The first bionic hand that allows an amputee to feel what they are touching will be transplanted later this year in a pioneering operation that could introduce a new generation of artificial limbs with sensory perception.
Sensationalist headlines is finally living up to it's name.
Wasn't there already an existing one? Could've swore I saw one on the same segment with that lady who could control the robotic arm via a chip in her head. Then had an amputee too I think who had the same thing, but could feel objects instead of just a one way impulse.
It won't be too long until we can have full cyborg bodies that can see, feel, hear, etc.
And then it won't be too long after that until Bruce Willis fucks it up for everyone.
It is a time of great innovation.
where's my bionic penis
So an artificial sense of pressure and proprioception? Fucking cool as shit. Especially the proprioception. Just imagine how weird it would be to feel touch without the knowledge of where that body part is.
another day, another step closer to my dream of becoming adam jensen
First bionic eyes, now this.
Humans own
I saw a hand that could feel but it was different.
Guy lost both arms in an electric accident, so they wired his hand nerves (in his shoulder) to his chest. A mechanical arm would place weights on his chest that corresponded to where his hand was touching something.
Shits crazy

I guess I'll step up and be the one looking forward to Ghost in the Shell, then.
You can replace most of the human body with prosthetic parts.
Although the digestive system is probably tricky.
terminator
has science gone too far
That feel
Transhumanism: Our future?
There has to be a Deus Ex joke somewhere here.
I want to be Deus Ex.
Apparently we're living in the future, and it's awesome!
That is really fucking rad. I can't imagine what it'd be like to lose one or both hands and have such a natural thing like the ability to feel be taken away.
I never asked for this.
...But now that I've seen this, I ask for much more.
that feel when you feel a feel

Fuck yeah! Jazz hands everyone!
Freaking technology! If this works out, then I can see the rise in transhuman. Of course it just makes one wonder where this technology will be going after this.
Where are my augmented sunglasses.

But can it be taught to love?
I'll take three.
