Blur blur, smudge, blur blur. That's all I see.
I really like it.
Thanks :3
If you're going for the scare factor, it's not as scary as it could be. I'd make the blood sharper, not so blurred out- to really draw in attention. Also, kinda seems like the grey and white aren't balanced. :) Nice concept though.
I look, and I think it's not bad but not great.
I thought the blood was he/she's hair for a second. I like the picture though.
Gman? D:
"Whift are you afraib or?" Just check your proportions, he's a little short, looks like a child.
That's another person on the ground? I thought it was a reflection. Good picture though.
I like it, feels cold too.
A little C&C on it. 1. make the tie more defined, on first glance, it look like an arm... My personal opinion is that you should change it to red to give the picture more effect. 2. Make the Pistol (if thats what it even is) more defined, you have to really look hard into what is happening in this picture. 3. Nice work on the shadow, i like it. 4. Again, just define/touch up the arm. 5. You spoiled it by doing this. It looks weird and is an eye sore. I placed a few lines to show lighting and where i think it should go and fixing the perspective on the door. Overall i like the effect you have placed on this. Although it is just Smudge and blur, i like it. If you fix the above points this would be a great piece of artwork.

close/rough/freehand/5 sec edit
close/rough/freehand/5 sec edit
Uh, yeah, no. You put the top of his door all the way down following the same line the bottom does, that was not a 5 second rough freehand fuckup and it was not rough.

[editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
I placed a few lines to show lighting and where i think it should go and fixing the perspective on the door. Actually, since it's not as realistic, it's got more of an eerie, horror movie quality. I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Actually, since it's not as realistic, it's got more of an eerie, horror movie quality. I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Style is hardly ever an excuse for drawing poorly and ignoring basic laws. Also I'm pretty damn sure that it would become even more eerie and horrow-movie-qualityish if he fixed it up with correct perspective and light first of all. Correctly drawing light as it is and then exaggerating the effect can give a really really strong impact and style. Making unrealistic lightning can often ruin the whole effect you wanted to achieve because it simply makes no sense to the brain, sure it can look okay but if you go and re-do it correctly you'll in most cases end up with a result that is even better.
Well I'll be darned, you're right. I guess it's just my lazy side talking. Like I would hate to go back and rework it. :P But I guess that's because I'm just beginning to learn about Photoshop, truth be told. By the way, I love your profile picture. Edit: Whoops, I mean avatar. x)
Reminds me of Max Payne.
Don't be afraid to NOT use blur and smudging. Blur and smudge should only be used if you fixed up something small and the colour didn't blend together well. But what I'm seeing here is you used different shades that were very far from being close to the other shadow, so you smudged it, yet the transition from the different shades still doesn't go too well. Don't be afraid to use solid colours! Set your brush to around 20-30% opacity and if you need to go back, go back and use the eye dropper and get the colour you want, and switch to 100% and carefully fix up your mistakes with other shades of the opacity overlaying another shade/colour. Hopefully what I'm saying is clear enough.
overall failed project. Trhow away the tablet start using penicl and paper. Drawspace.com to get started and find some various non manga anatomy tutorials and proportion sheets to go alongside.
Gman? D:
Gman Jr.
I originally thought that the guy came home to find his wife was dead, and that was his greatest fear. I didn't even see the gun until someone pointed it out.

There are plenty of novice digital painting tutorials for people who can't draw good on paper. This guys good, I've learned a lot about digital painting through him, and he's a concept artist for Guild Wars 2! He also does traditional pencil tutorials if you do want to take Pepsi's advice and start from paper. Disregard the post above me for reasons described below: He's a big blistering idiot and here's why:
There are plenty of novice digital painting tutorials for people who can't draw good on paper.
There are people who can't draw too well on paper and do much better painting. You silly big blistering idiot. :smug: So Hitler, how's that art school of yours coming along? You what?! Didn't get accepted?!
Draw a quick train, post it here.
