Those masks with the big cheeks look like the ones that the drummers Les Claypool plays with uses. looks pretty amazing.
I was hoping they'd use Will Ferrel for John
Awesome. I absolutely love the book and didn't know they were making a movie out of it. Cant wait
I wonder who dies at the end
looks like a creepy and interesting film
I wonder who dies at the end
John.
John.
[sp]someone hasn't read the book[/sp]
Oh wow, this looks really good. I can't wait for this to come out. I need to get a copy of the book, because I can't stand reading it online, even though I have twice.
Through a Scanner Darkly meets live-action meets Marty Wolf.
I am very confused.
I...er... ...what?
And then she burst into snakes.
Looks good, plus its a Don Coscarelli movie so how bad can it be?
With a title like that, I thought it would be some sort of comedy. I need to start reading books.
It looks like a fucking good adaptation. Of course nobody is expecting the doorknob penis to make it into the movie, but the scenes are almost identical to what I imagined while I was reading the book. It's a dark comedy. I'd like to say mature comedy because there's some gross shit in there, but some of the jokes are pretty immature like the doorknob cock or the room filled with poop.
Honestly, despite all the wackyness in the novel, it actually is quite frightening.
I haven't read the book but that trailer was giving off some David Cronenberg vibes, cool stuff.
Honestly, despite all the wackyness in the novel, it actually is quite frightening.
It's one of those unique books to make me laugh and scream in the same paragraph. It really is an excellent book.
[sp]someone hasn't read the book[/sp]
But John dies at the end.
But John dies at the end.
But he [sp]doesnt[/sp]
I like how they barely had anything with John, which is hilarious, because for all intents and purposes, they couldn't. Essentially every other conversation with him would have to be censored for a trailer.
I love this book so fucking much. I've read it seven times or more now. I own the original Cafepress. I own the first soft cover, the new soft cover with additional content and the hardcover. I read the second book before he took down what he had. And I absolutely love this book. I can't wait to see where this movie goes. But when you read something you have a completely different vision of it than say the author did or someone else. Like I always imagine that John and Dave would look constantly disheveled like they had woken up, not showered or shaved and left the house like that. I also have to note that in the trailer you can see them sitting on the thrones in "Shit-Narnia" and they're not made of trees like in the book. In addition the thrones appear to be in a church. Not sure what's going on there but I'm extremely excited anyway. You can also see a scene where the group from the U-Haul is walking through the Undisclosed Mall with the Justin-Monster. Which never happened in the book. Also there is a scene in the trailer where Arnie grabs Dave and asks him a question. Which I believe is that last scene that took place in the Mall with the two where he finds out the truth about himself. Only now it's back at "THEY CHINA FOOD!"
This looks absolutely sick.

I hope they don't cut the Ronald McDonald scene, but I would assume there would be legal issues. That was one of my favorite descriptions in the book.
Holy shit, I really want to read this book now.

I lent a girl my one copy of JDate and she hasn't read it so I'd like to get it back from her. Also I don't think the McDonalds scene is in there. You can see Amy wearing the 'Scooby Doo' glasses in the trailer and they're not Scooby Doo anymore.
