Grozny really looked like a modern day Stalingrad; post apocalyptic even.
Pretty powerful footage. Not sure if this is totally acceptable for FP but it shows no gore or anything. If it's unacceptable sorry and just delete the thread mods.
"Aiii, that’s it (it’s the end), he killed me."
What strange last words.
That's so eerie how at the end the camera just stops moving and stays completely still, really chilling footage.
That was such an unfortunate spot to be caught in with a sniper firing on you, if only he had run back inside where they came from instead of staying ducked down he probably wouldve survived
I could tell you that the Chechen War is pretty much a large clusterfuck, especially with the recently dissolved Soviet Union
I usually lurk the militaria side of it but you can even see the infantry never get issued the right equipment, mix and matched gear, huge lack of uniformity, bullets and explosions everywhere
My respects to the journalists that covered it, especially even to this day footage is somewhat difficult to find
Them last words... Strange how there was no panicking or anything, just a calm "Okay, he got me"

he probably accepted his fate, look at the situation he was in, what else can he do? He always let the cameras roll though, true sacrifice for a good story.
Man what a brave man.
I cannot comprehend how a human being ditches the fear of death.
Chechen wars are fucked on so many levels
Only the people who know that they are beyond any mortal help speak with such calmness.

I think there's no country in the world that has experienced as much city combat as Russia.
Shit, he didn't even sound alarmed when he said his last words.

The Room clearing tactics that the Russians developed in Stalingrad during WWII are still used by US SWAT and tons of special forces.
that left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Probably hit an artery and lost blood really fast. Apparently when that happens you don't even feel a lot of pain you just get weaker and weaker and fade to black.

When it's inevitable there's not much else you can do.
