A Blind woman claims she was refused a passport after officials rejected the picture on her application because her eyes were not in focus in the photo! Crikey!
So after some research, I found this...
- Alexandra Carter, 25, who is registered blind, applied for a passport
- She has nystagmus leaving her unable to control movement of her eyes
- Application was rejected because officials said expression wasn't 'neutral'
- Miss Carter said she believes it was because her eyes were out of focus
- Feels she was rejected by passport officials because of her disability
- She is registered blind and had to provide evidence proving she was blind

So what does the public think?
From Gaz44, Durham, United Kingdom,
"What idiots. Bet Jihadi John had no problem applying."
From Slav, Nottingham, United Kingdom,
"Just take another picture, its not rocket science"

So what does the Facepunch community think? Comment below!

this is fucking bullshit.
Miss Carter has had to provide letters from her doctor proving her eyesight problems in order to have her application accepted.

So there wasn't a section in the form to write about disabilities, that is an oversight, but from reading the article it sounds like they hadn't known about her condition when they received the photo, and now she just has to send some forms from her doctor to get it fixed.

Well, that's dumb, you can't just bitch about something so trivial when you don't let them provide an explanation... people need to take this kind of thing in to account.
I thought Daily Mail was bad, but OP managed to turn it into a clickbait article...
She ended up getting a doctor's note and the passport was approved.
End of story.

that wasn't supposed to be a compliment
england is super anal about passport photos
i've heard of photos being rejected based on size of photo being off a millimeter, head size being off by a millimeter, even the background color not being the right shade.
source: taking passport photos
That is a hilarious story though, in a fucked up way. I'm glad it was excused though

Here's a highlight of things I think is really unnecessary to include in the OP. Just post a snippet of the article instead of all this dumb blog type stuff.
