Then we tried a reinforced bar cutter, but it just dented it". He said the man had been out drinking until the early hours and did not know when the lock was put round his neck. "He woke up at about 16:00 BST and found his mates had put the lock round his neck and his mates had thrown away the keys," said Mr Drummond. "His mum brought him in at about 19:30 BST. He really did have his tail between his legs". The rescue unit covered the man with a fireproof blanket and cut through the steel with a circular saw.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-birmingham-33222456?ocid=socialflow_facebook The last thing I want anything close to my neck is a circular saw.
Damn that was one quality bike lock then. I had to cut though one with bolt cutters and I barely had to squeeze it.
If he isn't in immediate danger wouldn't it have been safer to call in a qualified locksmith?
If he isn't in immediate danger wouldn't it have been safer to call in a qualified locksmith?
Shhh, don't tell him that.
Reminds me of Breaking Bad when they had one of the drug distributors locked to a pole in the basement of Jesse's house with a bike lock around his neck.
If he isn't in immediate danger wouldn't it have been safer to call in a qualified locksmith?
I'm pretty sure the locksmith would have just cut through it as well. The locks on these things are supposed to be much harder to pick than usual.
Oh wow
"He woke up at about 16:00 BST and found his mates had put the lock round his neck and his mates had thrown away the keys
Who does that?
Damn that was one quality bike lock then. I had to cut though one with bolt cutters and I barely had to squeeze it.
You can open most with a pen or a popsicle stick, I'm surprised they had to cut it. Then again it was probably faster and easier than picking it.
Oh wow Who does that?
People drunk off their ass.
You can open most with a pen or a popsicle stick, I'm surprised they had to cut it. Then again it was probably faster and easier than picking it.
what kind of garbage locks have you been buying
Oh wow Who does that?
nout wrong with a bit of banter mate
I would have preferred it being picked... I would let anyone close to me with a fucking saw.
Good thing he didn't have to sneeze
what kind of garbage locks have you been buying
I remember my dad bending and breaking a bike lock on my sisters bike using his bare hands the lock was so scary cheapo you could snap it without any tools, just by bending it this is how you fuck up a lock... make it entirely aluminum and plastic.
Oh wow Who does that?
People you dob't wanna drink with :v:
What about the Jaws of Life? Surely a tool designed to cut through twisted vehicles can defeat a bike lock...
If your lock says Fisher-Price on it you should probably find a better one.
My lock says Playskool, I'll have you know.
Oh wow Who does that?
welcome to England mate
good god a fucking circular saw's dangerous as hell, you risk decapitating the guy or doing some serious damage... a good recipro with a good blade should have done the trick...
Instantly thought of this:
If he isn't in immediate danger wouldn't it have been safer to call in a qualified locksmith?
Would've cost him though. Fire department's free (I assume).

The fire department has to deal with many cases of being stuck, and the circular saw is the weapon of choice in all cases it seems
Just woke up and my mates have cut me open and stolen a few of my organs ahaha fuckin legends #hangover
What about the Jaws of Life? Surely a tool designed to cut through twisted vehicles can defeat a bike lock...
Jaws of life are pretty fucking big though. There might not have been enough room to safely use it for that.
this guy had a pretty good solution.
This seems fitting [sp]Bike lock around his neck[/sp] Best quality video I could find -_-
Oh wow Who does that?
I believe it happened on Dirty Sanchez as well if I remember correctly.
what kind of garbage locks have you been buying
You can do an impressioning attack on shittier tubular locks with a pen if it happens to be the right size, otherwise a tubular pick will probably do the job. Popsicle sticks can overlift most wafer locks of the right size. There aren't a lot of good tubular or wafer locks around because if you want security you don't use such garbage designs. Yet you'll find most bicycle locks have them because they're cheap.
Damn that was one quality bike lock then. When I was a kid I got stuck in a baby swing and my dad used a grinder to cut the seat down and cut me out of it.
