As the title says, this is a thread for new metal/hardcore/metalcore/post-hardcore albums that have been released this year, and for albums that are set to be released for this year.
I just learned about Within the Ruins about a month ago. Their music just blows me away. Tight, technical guitar rhythms and booming, fast double bass is exceptional. Check em out. Here's one of their more popular songs, "Invade". It gets me PUMPED.

As I lay Dying has released many great albums in the past. Their latest, The Powerless rise, follows in the same patterns as their previous albums, though it seems to include a lot more heavy and fast paced songs than their last album from 2007, An Ocean Between us. This song that I have posted here, Anodyne Sea, is one of my favorite songs on the new album. Don't take a shit on them just because they have christian lyrics. They have great music.

Attila is just a kickass band. 'Nuff said. Take a listen. Also, this youtube link contains a link to a full album download.

Of Mice and Men is new to the metal scene. This year, they released their first album, and it's comparable to Underoath's "Define The Great Line" from 2006. Good music all around. Here's one of the popular songs off the album.

We Came as Romans. I love love love this band. The track "To Plant a Seed" of which the album is named after is one of the best post-hardcore songs that I have heard in a long time. From the rough yet clean screaming to the more gentle and melodic singing, this track is a winner because of the talent behind it. It gets stuck in my head. I must have listened to it 20 times today. Check 'em out, I highly recommend this to everyone. Here's "To Plant a Seed".

After sampling these bands, go ahead and vote on which one you like the most.
OK, well that's it for now. Now it's up to you guys to add more to the list. Give us metal/metalcore/deathmetal/post-hardcore from 2010!
I like none of these sorry. Hopefuly people don't call this kind of music Nu-Metal.
[editline]06:02AM[/editline]
Atleast you were so nice to include an "none of these.." poll option
I went to high school with the drummer from We Came As Romans

Saved that
[editline]05:44PM[/editline]
Almost everyone of those bands is terrible imo
We Came As Romans are alright I guess, same with AILD
Of Mice and Men are really great though, but they're neither metal or hardcore

The Adversary is also a pretty good song in their album.
Why did you classify Attack Attack as metal?
Fixed. Kinda. It's still on the poll, but I don't think I can take it off.
This shit sucks.
Then leave.
I went to high school with the drummer from We Came As Romans
If you really did, that's awesome!
Of Mice and Men are really great though, but they're neither metal or hardcore
They're post-hardcore.
Kalmah - 12 Gauge

I don't know about any other metal albums that I liked released this year. :(
I'm assuming this thread is for any metal that came out in 2010? Not just metalcore?
If so, then how about we throw some good albums from this year up here.
Following the format portrayed in your post:

A tightly technical yet brutally melodic release, Fragments of Form and Function is Allegaeon's first full length, after their 2008 debut EP, Allegaeon. Ripe with complex riffs, breakneck speeds, and the occasional blastbeat, offset with blistering grooves and vocal melodies that you can't help sing along to - even if you don't even know the words. Think Arsis, minus the crappy blastbeats, useless guitar wankery, and half-assed vocals / lyrics. Oh, did I mention the lyrics? Yeah, they're about science n' shit.

This blistering debut from Italian metallers Embryo is ripe with groovy and syncopated double-bass, powerful drumming, and a guitar tone and part that will drown you in a layer of distorted filth - in the good way. Combined with the inhumanly deep, gurgling vocals, given a new dimension by the dark and tense keyboard, you'll find yourself bobbing your heard to the verses and mimicking the vocal harmonies of their two-vocal choruses.

While the debut album for Solution .45, For Aeons Past is a debut for no one of Solution .45; With Christian Alvestam of Scar Symmetry and Miseration fame taking hold of the vocals, and all the other band members from one of the many bands Christian has worked with over the years, Solution .45 brings to the plate a fresh dish of melodic death metal that only Scar Symmetry's vocalist could. Don't be fooled, though, this album is far from a Scar Symmetry clone.
And that's just melodic death metal albums I have. There were at least two or three others that I know of that I've considered getting, and/or have heard are good, like Kalmah's 12 Gauge.

Yes, the thread's for any genre of metal that has come out this year.
And there's no need to be a jerk if you don't like the bands displayed in OP. Make your contribution, comment on your contribs, vote on the poll, and move on.
Thanks for the contributions.
Do I need to say which is my favorite?
Attack Attack!, Of Mice & Men and We Came As Romans are all Post-Hardcore.
Well Attack Attack! is a Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band but you get the point.
And the newest Attack Attack! album is decent.
The Adversary is also a pretty good song in their album.
This is the most annoying music I have ever heard, I'd rather listen to J.B. over this crap. Sounds like a guitar is being dropped down the stairs, and the singing sounds like he's gargling mouthwash and trying to sing at the same time. Can't believe people like this crap.
The best part of the song is at 4:26
On a separate note..
BFMV and AILD are ok, they have some good songs, but the best metal has already been made.
Metallica
Dio
Black Sabbath
Iron Maiden
I highly doubt anything these days are going to be any better than what has already been created
This song beats anything in here

I don't really go for that style either, but this is the metal thread, so it stays.

By the way, that video was disturbing the first time I watched it. Then the more I watched it the funnier it became.
Yea I saw that video also, it is pretty funny :P

I didn't like them at first but it took some more listens to get into them but then again I'm a deathcore nut.

Oh, you're one of those.
Attack Attack! Is not metal, its Crabcore
This.
Also the only one on the last I can stand is As I Lay Dying, and that's sorta pushing it.
Too much post-hardcore in this thread. The Contortionist's new album has to be one of my favorites now.

Some other really good songs and really different changes of pace.
OP doesn't know what metal is
[editline]07:17PM[/editline]
OP should say "New christian post-hardcore and metalcore for 2010" not "metal/hardcore"

1) This thread contains metal. Look back at the original post.
2) The only christian band that I'm aware of in this thread is As I lay Dying. If that bothers you, too bad, it's still metal.
3) Give us more music or get out. If you really "know what metal is", then post the bands that you like... Don't bitch at me because you don't like the music in this thread. If you don't like them, vote "None of these" on the poll and leave.

None of the bands in the OP are Metal.
That being said, I'm hoping Down IV comes out this year.
i have gotten much stuff released this year (waiting till i can the new opeth, athiest, and james labrie) but i did pick up the album polarity by technical death metal band decrepit birth and it's really damn good and i advise you to check it out
