The investigation began after Lambesis contacted an undercover detective on May 2 to kill his wife, according to deputies.
that's pretty damning right there
This is really shocking, Tim seems like a really nice and respectable guy, and has done a lot of charity work. He's the vocalist that got me into extreme metal. He's also in Austrian Death Machine and Pyrithion.
As I Lay Dying has stated on numerous occasions that all of the members of the group are Christians. When asked if they're a Christian band or Christians in a band, Tim Lambesis stated on the band's FAQ, "I'm not sure what the difference is between five Christians playing in a band and a Christian band. If you truly believe something, then it should affect every area of your life.
i wonder how it affected this
i wonder how it affected this
I don't think he's involved in this, but if he is, there's some deep dark shit he's hid for a long ass time.

Speaking of rich...."getting into charity work" means nothing which is more about putting a band aid on a problem than actually solving it just to improve his own self image and make it look like he 'cares'. So there's nothing left to defend and he's nothing more than a heavy metal vocalist that's it which outside of that, he could be anybody which in this circumstance, he's really a asshole. In short, Charity works are really nothing more than ego boosts for the rich/wealthy to improve their self-image but due to the fact that the rich/wealthy are the most privileged of all classes doesn't change reality. Also him involved with Christian shit pretty much explains alot as well....

Was looking forward to his Pyrithion bands stuff, oh well

This is a mainstream metalcore band, not a Grammy-award winning pop singer, nor someone akin to Burzum. Oh and there is something to defend, maybe being innocent before being proven guilty? And what does Christianity have to do with anything, other than allowing you to be further bigoted against a group? [editline]7th May 2013[/editline]
Was looking forward to his Pyrithion bands stuff, oh well
Pyrithion was really generic, but I did like the lyrics.
welp, no more Austrian Death Machine if this goes to shit
Oh and there is something to defend, maybe being innocent before being proven guilty?
He tried hiring an undercover cop who he thought was a hitman to kill his wife
He tried hiring an undercover cop who he thought was a hitman to kill his wife
allegedly
allegedly
It's allegedly alleged that he allegedly alleged to have his alleged wife allegedly killed allegedly
Well I guess he could rename his band... ... She Almost Lay Dying!
Well I guess he could rename his band... ... She Almost Lay Dying!
As I Lay Awaiting Parole
It would of been easier to do it himself.
It would of been easier to do it himself.
Harsher penalty if I recall correct.
I love how its a christian band in this genre that has something like this happen to them whilst all the satanic dudes don't really do shit like this :v:
As you lay dying a vocalist accused of hiring a hitman decided to kill his estranged wife?
Hopefully this causes the band to break up and we can be without one more terrible metalcore group.
I know that his wife was strange but that's not a reason to kill anyone!!
He tried hiring an undercover cop who he thought was a hitman to kill his wife
Sounds like a Hitchcock movie
I love how its a christian band in this genre that has something like this happen to them whilst all the satanic dudes don't really do shit like this :v:
Lambesis is the only one in the band who isn't a Christian.
He adopted 3 Ethiopian kids, and he's far from rich or privileged.
Um, adopting African kids is like the definition of "rich and privileged" Rich enough to go adopt kids from other countries and privileged enough to assume they'd rather be "saved" by some random American than live with a good family in their own country
As you lay dying a vocalist accused of hiring a hitman decided to kill his estranged wife?
I was expecting this to be a joke about that quote "you either die a hero or love to see yourself become the villain" from Dark Knight. Disappointed
As I Lay Dying has stated on numerous occasions that all of the members of the group are Christians

However, Lambesis also stated on his Tumblr page, "Every year that I had put toward my degree in Religious Studies caused me to see the god of tradition and ritual that I grew up with as less and less of a probable truth. By the time I graduated, my entire concept of the divine had changed as I sought to reconcile spirituality and reason. The more I sought truth uncorrupted by years of religious history, the more I kept finding answers I didn’t want to find. Emotionally, it would have been easiest for me to just hold on to what I grew up believing, but mentally that wasn’t an option anymore."
Source
Um, adopting African kids is like the definition of "rich and privileged" Rich enough to go adopt kids from other countries and privileged enough to assume they'd rather be "saved" by some random American than live with a good family in their own country
They were orphans, and he spends his time being a father. If he wanted to be "rich and privileged", there would be much easier ways. And as I've said before he's not all that rich.
They were orphans, and he spends his time being a father.
There are orphans in America. There are adoptive families in Ethiopia. It's not a desert full of mud huts. The whole "adopt African baby" thing is ultimately a condescending act, predicated on the assumption that Africans need us to save them. Africa is chock full of African volunteer organizations and other groups that help people. The best thing to do is to support them, rather than spending huge amounts of money shuttling Westerners over to have ~spiritual awakenings~ giving African kids tylenol for a couple of weeks. If he really wanted to help African orphans he could have donated to adoption agencies and orphan advocates rather than snatching kids out of their country so he could feel good about himself. Also not trying to kill his wife would have been a good move.
