Didn't see any threads about these guys, but they're such a great band. A lot of talent within the band. The guy on that Take on Me Cover is a fucking psycho. Actually they all are. [editline]12:22PM[/editline] Good band though.
My favorite ska band.
great stuff. There are better ska vocalists out there IMO but these guys have great lyrics and are fun to listen to anyway. [editline]01:44AM[/editline] I love posting don't start a band on shitty music forums when people talk about their "daring new projects" in FL studio (which they call "a band") or things of that nature
I like 'em, but they don't even compare to Streetlight Manifesto in my mind. Streetlight just has so much more talent. Still love RBF though. :v:
sell out is a classic, love it
Saw them live in 05 that was fun to say. Great band, I love the trumpet player who downs a bottle of JD on stage
RBF is a great ska band, but they're too poppy for my tastes.
RBF is a great ska band, but they're too poppy for my tastes.
I think they're just kind of happy sounding, they don't give a shit about being on the radio or MTV. The lyrics really are pretty bitter / negative a lot of times, though.
I just went to a RBF gig last night, now there was a mosh pit and a half! They had Sonic Boom Six and Big D And The Kids' Table supporting too

I'm seeing them soon, along with anthrax, gallows and a few other great bands.
I love Reel Big, they are almost as different from the vast majority of other ska bands, but they really aren't... they sorta just sound the same. Awesome band though!
I love Reel Big Fish. They sound great live too, from what I've seen anyways from live DVDs.

I wouldn't even consider RBF Ska compared to real original Ska such as The Skatalites and Don Drummond.
Ska gig's aren't meant to have "mosh pit's".
You would suck at a concert. I can imagine someone going in a mood because it's not how it's supposed to be and it's not like proper original ska.
it's called third wave gramps
I'm perfectly aware of what it's called. That's the thing that annoys me, whenever someone asks me what kind of music I'm into and I say Ska, they always say "Reel Big Fish?". I go to Ska Punk gig's expecting nothing less from Ska Punk fans.
Just remain calm and say: "No, " and list some bands that they wont have heard of. That will show them who isn't mainstream.
RBF are great. Seeing them live in a month at Soundwave!
All I can remember is being in grade 8 and loving the song 241. Wasn't a big fan of them but I enjoyed a few songs.
:smug: They're a pretty quality band. I saw them with Streetlight Manifesto. I went mainly for SM but RBF is p good too
I fucking LOVE Reel Big Fish. Have almost all their stuff on disc. I just wish they had more of their original members in the band, 'cause there's only one left.
