So here's my review of the LBT(London Bridge Trading Company) 1961a Chest Rig: What I wanted: A light chest rig that is open in the back, carries about 8 M4 mags, some misc pouch for BB's, and a radio pouch. I really liked the Eagle RRV and the LBT 1961a and since the RRV plus pouches would have cost hundreds more than just a 1961a I went with the LBT. First Impressions: This rig is heavy duty, very sturdy, stitching is top notch too. The colors great too, its coyote tan which is basically identical to coyote brown except a little lighter. I also noticed that everything is tightly placed together, nothing is too far out of reach or jumbled together. I've used it about 3 times now in the field and can say it is one of my favorite purchases I've ever made, it works in the field better than I expected too. Pros: -It's an LBT -Doesn't use velcro to adjust your fit, just tighten the buckle -Everything's easy to open and get access to -Only gives you essential pouches -Buckles on the back allow for a backpack or hydration pouch -Great weight distribution -Great color/pattern options -Since it's used by special forces, Pantac makes a version http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ProductDetail?prodID=24615) Cons: -Price ($250 aint cheap) Technicals: 1000 Cordura fabric 4x M4 Mag pouches (Holds 8 mags) 2x Misc/NVG Pouch 2x Radio/Holster Pouches (I say holster because it basically was made with a pistol in mind) 2x Shotgun/Signal shell pouches 3x Pistol Mag Pouches 2x Grenade Pouches 1x Map/Misc Pouch Weighs about 8-9 Pounds fully loaded
Looks quite a bit like an RRV with no chest thingy. Nice review, gets to the point quickly.
yeah it's similiar to the rrv in the fit and pouch placement but that's about it. The 1961a has no modularity but the placement they have set up is very nice anyways. The straps on the LBT are permanently in the "H" configuration, as opposed to the RRV which can be put in either the "H" or "X". I would rather have the straps on the 1961a than the RRV though cause the weight distribution is better. In a nutshell, the 1961a has virtually no modularity as opposed to the RRV but in the end the 1961a costs like 1/3 than that of the RRV plus all the pouches. In computer terms, the LBT is in permanent "Default" setting.
