Have to say, its a really pretty game
i'm so fucking excited for this game you have no idea beyond it looking great I'm just so impressed by what they're able to do with characters conversing in open/linear worlds, both during action and not (see the e3 demo, consider how the characters have a dynamic conversation in a driving section YOU GET TO DRIVE IN and one that they react to the different situations.) Plus, the way Nathan interacts with the world and how you can still control him during those "cinematic" sequences is just, ughh so good. I can't wait for tomorrow. [editline]9th May 2016[/editline] AND DO I EVEN NEED TO TALK ABOUT THE CRASH BANDICOOT THING

control the hype or the hype will control you
That tall grass being "realistic" is pretty BS though.
can't wait to rent it from redbox
I want a film-maker tool in this game. It's so fucking beautiful. Of course, I also want it on PC, but you know, whatever. :v:
Is it actual spoilers in the video like watching an important character get shot or spoilers like "wtf, frequent supporting character returns? thanks for ruining it asshole, I'm canceling my preorder"
Is it actual spoilers in the video like watching an important character get shot or spoilers like "wtf, frequent supporting character returns? thanks for ruining it asshole, I'm canceling my preorder"
Comments were complaining about the spoilers, so I put it on the title just to be sure

Really does look amazing, especially the characters. Considering the hardware, it's basically a miracle (not that the hardware is terrible at all).
Alright, so this is controversial sometimes: I love Uncharted I really do, but for me it goes without saying that the PS4 remasters are the versions of the games you should be playing. Why? Framerate. That's it, to me all this visual stuff is lovely, it's great, really, the game is gorgeous and that's great. But it means infinite amounts less than how the game actually plays. If you say I can have both that's amazing, but if you make me chose, I will choose 60fps over fancy physics and lighting everyday of the week. I found the same thing with Ratchet and Clank, I actually like every previous game bar the later PS3 ones over the new PS4 simply because of the framerate. Will I buy this game? Yes. But I'm a sucker, despite my desire for more quality I'll always buy what I'm criticizing. Shit, I had R&C delivered on the UK release day knowing the framerate and it still bothered me even more than I expected to the point where I went back and beat one of the older games just to make sure it wasn't just rose tinted glasses. It wasn't by the way. What I'm saying is that it's really not a masterpiece of anything, it's another Uncharted game and it's very pretty but it's sacrificing too much for that. I don't even need to play it to know that. Same with R&C, although I have played that. Oh and also, I fucking love the Uncharted main theme, holy shit!
Started playing it today, I'm like 5 hours in and I fucking love the shit out of it. It's an amazing game. It ain't flawless, but goddamn if it's not trying. Absolutely beautiful, a true masterpiece. [editline]10th May 2016[/editline]
You're going to be so disappointed
That's kinda mean, the game is amazing alright. Also you say it's "sacrificing too much" but you only mentioned the lack of 60 FPS. If that bothers you so much, why would you buy a PS4?

Also I have a PS4 because I love games, I like to play games on my PS4, hard to believe isn't it?

It's just console standard, has been for years.
I'm just saying, it should be hard to complain that a game is not 60 FPS on a PS4. It's just console standard, has been for years.
Games that focus on gameplay target 60fps most cinematic experiences focus on the graphics so 30fps is the standard for them
I'm just saying, it should be hard to complain that a game is not 60 FPS on a PS4. It's just console standard, has been for years.
I've enjoyed a fair amount of 60fps games on my PS4. Having said that I'll take a game at 30 it's just as I've said before a million times framerate is always more important to me that graphical fidelity. [editline]10th May 2016[/editline] Also fuck yeah I can complain about shitty framerate, just cause it's a standard doesn't mean it should be that way.
If ever there's a game that deserves to run at 30 it is this.
You're going to be so disappointed
I'm only 5 hours into the game and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. It's gorgeous, the movement and combat's been refined to a tee, and the way the characters converse in and out of cutscenes feels real and relatable. I can safely say I'm not.

The combat is as awful as it was in previous Uncharteds, if not worse. Half the time I'm running around like an idiot trying to find cover because each "open" combat area has dozens of bullet sponge enemies in every fucking direction and Drake can barely take a few hits before dying.

The combat is probably the best it ever has been, which is excellent. 2. I dunno what fucking difficulty you played on but on "normal" you can run around like a dolt and soak up tons of damage before you die. I've died more to falling off cliffs due to my own stupidity than I have from combat, which is about 3 times now I think.

You went in knowing it was going to be like the previous THREE games.
You went in knowing it was going to be like the previous THREE games.
Which should have been really damn obvious after all the gameplay trailers and shit that were released fuckin months ago.
If you didn't like the previous Uncharted games, why the fuck did you play the 4th one? You went in knowing it was going to be like the previous THREE games.
Because the story I'd assume, and setpieces can't forget about those setpieces
The combat has never been awful in any Uncharted.
Err Uncharted 1 was full of bullet sponge enemies that made large encounters really fucking tedious because you also died really easily. Those were really the only major issues with the combat. [editline]11th May 2016[/editline] So it wasn't awful but it wasn't as refined as the later games.
Naughty Dog always pushes the consoles limits. People were shitting on The Last of Us and how it wasnt on PC so it wont ever look as good as it can, yet the fact that shit runs at a very solid 24-30 fps and looks as great as it does really shows how good Naughty Dog is. They all control amazing on console as well, some of the only TPS I really enjoy next to GoW when using a controller. Plus, they really are the only devs I see making these ACTUAL Movie Games(where they really are like some high budget action adventure like indiana jones) without being shit and generally very good. Not tryhard garbage like The Order.
The combat has never been awful in any Uncharted.
I disagree, combat in Uncharted 1 felt really bad at all times. Everything felt really floaty and a lot of enemies were just very tanky. It got much better later down the line.
