President Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters on Wednesday that they received Cohen's email, which was sent to the press office's general email address. Peskov said it was one of many emails that the Kremlin press office gets — since its email address is available online — and that the Kremlin did not reply to it.
So much for "no one had contact with any Russians... again.
The more articles like this come about, the more frustrating it becomes knowing that nothing is being done about it, or worse, congressional GOP are actively preventing something from being done.
Doesn't seem to have been particularly consequential to the House's investigation, although I imagine Robert Mueller's already working on snatching up Mr. Cohen for his own purposes, if he hasn't already.
Cohen said he worked on the real estate proposal with Felix Sater, a Russia-born associate who he said claimed to have deep connections in Moscow
This name keeps showing up.
Well, the more time that goes the harder reality will (hopefully) come crashing in the form of most of the GOP getting arrested
I am wary of hoping for that when the GOP have such strong control of the federal government at the moment.
Well, the more time that goes the harder reality will (hopefully) come crashing in the form of most of the GOP getting arrested
And with any luck, hanged for high treason.
And with any luck, hanged for high treason.
Nah, just a really really long prison sentence. Hopefully in one of the shitty prisons that are shitty because of them
Sounds like Putin is trying to openly cause chaos by commenting on this.
Is there any solid evidence so the trump administration can be taken to a trial or anything of the sort? It just seems like ever since he became president, there has been countless news articles about Russian influence but nothing about what's being done about it.

The Watergate investigation was of a smaller scale compared to this and it took around two years. This investigation started last year, but it's a shake up as to how long it could take. On the one hand, everybody involved is being super blatant as this is basically Stupid Watergate, but on the other hand as I just said, the corruption is more deeply rooted and may take longer to fully expose. Especially in today's caustic political environment with the Alt-Right's uprising and Russians gaslighting people online through social media/Wikileaks, it would make sense for Mueller to want to have as much of a compelling case as he can.

There are at minimum three separate investigations/probes of Russia-Trump campaign collusion going on right now: one by the FBI under the auspices of Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, one in the House Intelligence Committee, and one in the Senate Intelligence Panel. We see periodic leaks of information concerning their aims and activity, but it will take time -- maybe months or years -- for any of this to bear fruit. Have faith; you will see the end of this soon.

I'm convinced DJ Trump's set will last 4 full years at least. I'm not a fan of his, but I'm also not a fan of this barrage of shit everywhere. Yes, I want it to be over, but if it means it ends by waving what could be potential criminal actions, well.. I'll be disappointed either way.
Nothing to be done as of yet [editline]30th August 2017[/editline] One side wants you to believe something needs to be done right now, the other side wants you to believe nothing has to be done. As always, the truth is probably in the middle.
So something needs to be done in the future? What does this even mean?
One side wants you to believe something needs to be done right now, the other side wants you to believe nothing has to be done. As always, the truth is probably in the middle.
This is a common fallacy known as "golden center" thinking. It basically means that if you have two opposing viewpoints, the truth is in the middle. That is not the case here. Trump is clearly a threat to our democracy, and something clearly needs to be done about it as soon as possible - marches, boycotts, and prosecutions. Assuming a middle-ground here is not only intellectually lazy, but also dangerous. It's important that we understand the gravity of the situation and the urgency with which we must act to prevent further damage to our country.
I see you subscribe to group one
...and is that supposed to be an indication of something worse and/or intellectually inferior to your stance of "the truth lies in the middle"?
I see you subscribe to group one
it's great that after months of proselytizing for your manchild idol you think you can suddenly adopt the position of enlightened centrist mediator as though no one remembers anything you've ever said or done
The more articles like this come about, the more frustrating it becomes knowing that nothing is being done about it, or worse, congressional GOP are actively preventing something from being done.
we'll see how badly september goes, trump is throwing daily temper tantrums over the august recess when he should have been finalizing his tax positions, september will be the hardest month of his presidency thanks to the logjam, natural disasters, and increasing mueller probe scope something tells me he doesn't make it out of september with anybody left at his side, hell kellyanne might even be ejected
One side wants you to believe something needs to be done right now, the other side wants you to believe nothing has to be done. As always, the truth is probably in the middle.
Wow I really wish enlightened centrists like you would actually, y'know, tell us what "in the middle" even means in these situations. Are you suggesting we wait until measurable damage has been done to the country? Because that's already happened. Or have you just decided that you've taken the high ground simply by refusing to commit to either side without actually formulating an opinion of your own?
Nothing to be done as of yet [editline]30th August 2017[/editline] One side wants you to believe something needs to be done right now, the other side wants you to believe nothing has to be done. Fucking hell, it's like dishonesty suddenly grew a face.
The dude with a Trump avatar who was frequently posting about how great he is and amazing is now taking the apathetic centrist route. Fucking hell, it's like dishonesty suddenly grew a face.
For all of Trump's extremist rhetoric during the campaign about Mexicans, refugees, etc, it sure is funny to now see some people (even including Trump) try to play the "both sides are bad" or "the truth lies in the middle" excuse, when that is the polar opposite of the mindset that such people had when supporting Trump's views during the campaign. Where was the centrist "truth lies in the middle" mantra when Trump's actions were punishing or generalizing all Mexicans/refugees/etc for the actions of a small subset of those groups who committed crimes or terrorist attacks? Why is it that "all (or most) Mexicans/Refugees are bad" but "some people in the KKK are good people"? Weird how the angle of "nuance" only comes up when it comes to supporting neo-nazis or dismissing the left/the media as being hysterical over allegations of Trump/Russia collusion.
I see you subscribe to reality
Fixed that for you.
how is there not enough evidence to impeach him yet?
how is there not enough evidence to impeach him yet?
He's a Republican, and with the GOP controlling all three branches of government, they have no interest in holding their own accountable when they have borderline free reign to pass whatever legislation they want. Who cares about the Russian stooge if tax cuts and ObamaCare repeal are within our grasp?
Maybe Trump really is just a plant to destroy the GOP by being so inexcusable and incompetent that no one will vote for them again for defending his behaviour.
how is there not enough evidence to impeach him yet?
There very well may be, however here in the US the investigation would usually need to conclude before the evidence can be presented to Congress. Of course, Congress can render an impeachment decision at any time with the proper majority vote established in the Constitution. I imagine the GOP plays a large part in ensuring that doesn't come to the floor.
I imagine the GOP plays a large part in ensuring that doesn't come to the floor.
Considering the GOP controls the House and the House has to decide to hold an impeachment vote before it can go to the Senate for trial, yes, yes the GOP plays practically the entire role in ensuring such a vote has no realistic chance of passing. 2018 could shift the balance, however.
