Kamloops RCMP St. Sgt. Grant Learned said police were called to the Gateway Estate Mobile Home Park at 3 p.m. Wednesday after reports of a grass fire and a man fleeing the scene on a bicycle. He said while officers were on route to the fire, another call came from CP Rail indicating that a freight train had hit a pedestrian in the same area. Officers found the man, still conscious, but suffering from serious burns to his body and a large cut on his head from the train collision. Learned said the man was intoxicated and had been lying in the grass when the fire happened, and it's believed he awoke to find his clothes on fire. The man fled to his home in the mobile home park, grabbed a bicycle, and left the area, according to police. He made his way to the railway tracks, where he was hit by the train. Learned said it's believed the man accidentally started the fire, but noted that the bicycle had been stolen. The man is also considered a “person of interest” in the assault of a Kamloops bus driver on Sept. 27. Learned said the man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
**SOURCE** This guy should play the lottery.
how the fuck do you get hit by a train and not die? I feel like either you get the full force of the train and die, or you're quick enough to get out of the way and be fine
how the fuck do you get hit by a train and not die? I feel like either you get the full force of the train and die, or you're quick enough to get out of the way and be fine
It's possible to live, one of my dad's friends got hit by a train and survived.
Wait, so he set himself on fire, was hit by a train, and survived with non-life threatening injures? How
I hate it when that happens
Mobile Home Park

Intoxicated

3 p.m.
Y'see, there's your problem.
Y'see, there's your problem.
What does the time have to do with it? Mid-day.
What does the time have to do with it? Mid-day.
Getting belligerently intoxicated in the middle of the afternoon in a trailer park. Probably not the brightest of fellows.
What does the time have to do with it? Mid-day.
See, I knew the problem right at the words "mobile home park". It doesn't matter what time it was, it doesn't matter how drunk he was, he was in a goddamn trailer park.

Usually happens if it's already passed and you fall against the side of it. Freight trains also tend to run rather slowly so they're less likely to flatten you on initial impact.
damn that guy is extremely lucky
Reminds me of the guy who shot himself. stumbles out of his car only to be hit by a van... and lives.
Perfect material for a Darwin Award.
Someone that stupid survives only to populate the world with more stupid people. This is like the beginning of Idiocracy.
how the fuck do you get hit by a train and not die? I feel like either you get the full force of the train and die, or you're quick enough to get out of the way and be fine
Judging by "he had a cut on his head" he was probably struck by a protrusion from the train. I remember reading about a student that "got hit by a bus" and it turned out she was struck by the side mirror.

Some people have fallen off (I think it was) 10 story buildings while intoxicated and were able to walk away just fine, with maybe a broken bone or two.
The man is also considered a “person of interest” in the assault of a Kamloops bus driver on Sept. 27.
This seems like fit punishment enough if he does get convicted. I'd much rather do some jailtime than get lit on fire and hit by a train.
I think he stole the bike as the 'roll' part of 'stop, drop, and roll'. Getting hit by the train was either the stop part, or the drop part, or maybe he was clever enough to combine them into one step.
Wait, so he set himself on fire, was hit by a train, and survived with non-life threatening injures? How
He must have fucked Lady Luck. Only explanation? :v:
See, I knew the problem right at the words "mobile home park". It doesn't matter what time it was, it doesn't matter how drunk he was, he was in a goddamn trailer park.
Why is there a train running through our trailer park anyways?
Sounds like something out of a slapstick movie

Kamloops is beautiful, I was there just last month. EDIT: 3 months ago, Jesus how time flies.
Man, I want a video of this. He didn't die so it would be funny
Instant karma lol
Instant karma lol
Just add water!
Why is there a train running through our trailer park anyways?
Same reason trains run through towns? Track is either built through it, or the town expands to the other side of it. Train tracks aren't 20 foot high impassible barriers.
Why is there a train running through our trailer park anyways?
I've actually been there, and I can tell you it doesn't. There's first a hill, then the trailer park, then there's the trans-Canadian highway, and next to the highway is train tracks and next to the train tracks is a river.
See, I knew the problem right at the words "mobile home park". It doesn't matter what time it was, it doesn't matter how drunk he was, he was in a goddamn trailer park.
man, after all the trailer park posts, I feel like watching Trailer Park Boys
I hope he's sorry.
