Awesome, i mean it's hardly barely making money either, bloody tripled! This will surely make some companies pay attention. Yes, Warhammer Online, I'm looking at you.
to be honest it takes far to long to earn (grind) the points needed to unlock things ingame and when they force you to use these points for simple things like a persistantly annoying gold cap, the auction house or even some quick travel routes it becomes almost inevitable that you will spend money on this "free" game

I never understood why don't games like this use advertising as their main revenue source. A free, good MMO is bound to fetch hundreds of thousands of players, mostly from the same target group, I can't see how in-game adverts wouldn't be a goldmine.
How are they making money if it's free? Micro-transactions? Advertisements?
