As i expected. Might as well play one of those browser strip-poker games.
You get what you pay for.
Well, for a poker beginner like me it's been quite entertaining. I've probably got a good 8 hours of gameplay out of it and I'm still not bored yet, so they must have done something right. It just seems like this guy's nitpicking little things to be honest.
Half the people that bought it can't even play it anyways...

I like it
I agree about the bugs and dumb poker rules. That can be patched though. The dialogue doesn't loop that much though, and it's entirely tolerable. Worth the £3.
Well, it's obvious they need to improve some things, like: - The AI of the characters - Fix the Hold'em gameplay glitches (I have heard of people losing a hand that is clearly better than the other player's) - Tweaking their lines to make them less repetitive and/or adding more lines / conversations (I have heard Max saying the "Gravy train" line a looot of times) - Fix the graphical glitches (I can't see some options/buttons on the Settings menu) In my opinion it has its flaws, but I still enjoy playing it.
Hm, if this is true I should be okay. I'm no pro but at least I know the rules and played with friends numerous times.
This article makes it sound pretty shitty, where I still have quite some fun whilst playing it, even though I have already heard most of the dialogue.

Or just straight up play online poker because this seems terrible. I absolutely hate the random and irrational behavior of other poker players. It almost degrades the game to rolling dice and seeing who gets the higher number.

And I know a few pages when you can play free online poker, but there's a lot of them and I'm not sure what's the most complete and better one in general. Any recomendation?
I have 9 hours of playtime on this already, and I didn't even notice. They have done something right, obviously.
I'm helplessly addicted to this game. As for an emotional impact.. well, I laughed my ass off at Strong Bad and Max, and then I got extremely angry when I kept getting shit hands and the Heavy was stomping me. But it kept me playing for hours straight. I can't stop. Buy this game. I love it. [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] Oh, and I've played Texas Hold'Em a lot in my life, this has to be the most interesting for me.
I liked it. The conversations the characters have are really funny, and you play poker. Seems like some people were expecting minigames as well. Why? The clue was in the title.
I've been playing poker since i was a little kid and i love this game it's got a warm fuzzy charm.
I assumed the only point of this game was getting hats for your TF2.
No, the only point in buying these in-game items was to get a free game about poker.
- Fix the Hold'em gameplay glitches (I have heard of people losing a hand that is clearly better than the other player's)
You should've seen my face when I got knocked out because an ace high is apparently higher than a straight. But yeah, this game is great fun. Even if they didn't put the tf2 items in. [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] My face was not unlike my avatar.
Meh I think they went a bit too hard on a $5 game. I've played it for ~3.5 hours and I still have fun with it. The GUI looks very nice and there's a lot of cool little extra features in the game like special tables and how the characters walk around and have interactions in the background. Yeah, there are some bugs with the AI and stuff but I'm not a huge poker player so I don't mind too much.
I assumed the only point of this game was getting hats for your TF2.
80% probably. Overall the game was great, love the animation and humor placed in it, as you play poker. First time learning how to play poker, correctly now. Have to say it was worth getting it, not for the tf2 items. Thank goodness, they made those unlock items non tradable at least. [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] Don't need idiots going around making new values over them, well at least for those who aren't dumb enough to spend money to giftwrap or however it works.
I liked it a lot, I've played it for 4 hours and I just started it yesterday. I burst out laughing several times, and I started getting better and better at the game. There were bugs though, but not too bad. One time I saw one of the opponents cards floating around in the air, instead of being in their hand or on the table.
The guy makes it sound like it's a bad game. It's not. It's a very good game. I am willing to say, in fact, that these are the best "five" bucks I have and will ever spend.
I agree about the bugs and dumb poker rules. That can be patched though. The dialogue doesn't loop that much though, and it's entirely tolerable. Worth the £3.
Things that "can be patched" are never patched. Ever. And sometimes can't be.
Max is so annoying i wish this were a tad more like Red Dead's poker game every time someone annoys the fuck outta me in that i just quit poker stand up and shoot em in the head!
they should have added a multiplayer. i would totally buy it if it did have MP.
I'm new to poker and I found this game very fun. I'm going through hours just playing the game. Plus the TF2 items are a little nice. Totally worth the 5 bucks.
With every game I play I typically hear at least one dialog that i haven't heard yet. Like the heavy and that sparrow. God that was sad.... [editline]26th November 2010[/editline]
