Bismarck, ND (KX NEWS) - North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is searching for information related to the likely possession and taking of a mule dear buck and an antlerless whitetail pictured on social media.
ABC So this has been something I have been bickering about for the last few threads regarding the NoDAPL folk, and I wish to give some actual back-story to what is going on... Both of these links are 18+ NSFW: Imgur Gallery 1 | Imgur Gallery 2 By reading those two Imgurs, you get pretty much the whole story up to this point of what has been going on, or rather what we know about. Some reports are now coming forward that people were seeing gillnets being used in the Missouri River by the "protectors" at the campsite. And finally, if any of you have friends or family who were at the camp before September, ask them if they saw any deer being taken into the camp for butchering. If they did, please recommend to them that they call North Dakota Game and Fish's poacher hotline.
Game and Fish Seeks Information Release Date Wednesday, December 21, 2016 North Dakota Game and Fish Department law enforcement officers are searching for information related to the likely illegal possession and taking of a mule deer buck and an antlerless whitetail pictured recently on social media at a location that appears to be in or near the pipeline protest camp in southern Morton County. Anyone with information should contact the Game and Fish enforcement office in Bismarck at 701-328-6604.
North Dakota Game and Fish PR
I'm surprised theses raiders haven't been shot by local farmers, if their trespassing and stealing cattle.
It seems a bit silly though. Saying that they are slaughtering the wildlife and in the next sentence talking about how you should hunt properly. Kinda makes me think neither parties give a shit about animal rights and are just annoyed that someone isn't playing by the rules.

They are well-known for being what some might call hard-asses about the law. So this response isn't altogether surprising.
I'm surprised theses raiders haven't been shot by local farmers, if their trespassing and stealing cattle.
I've heard about a farmer or two being concerned about shooting the protestors because of the backlash it would most assuredly cause. But I suspect most farmers don't even realize what's happened until after the fact, at which point there isn't much to be done except report it as missing stock. You can't expect a farmer to watch his stock 24/7.
Snip-O
I wouldn't expect farmers to watch their stock 24/7 but usually if there's a fox about you'll watch one night and see if you can shoot it as for backlash, I hardly expect the protesters would shoot the farmer.
What a bunch of cunts. They deserve jailtime.

Each year the numbers of each game animal, as well as the predators, in the region are monitored. Based on the information gathered, they will have hunters take a certain number of game animals each year in order to keep their populations healthy, the predator population healthy, and ensure that neither grows to the point of unsustainability. They also utilize the large hunting population to destroy any invasive destructive species. Animals in the US are considered the property of every citizen. It is a public resource that belongs to all of us, so we task our governments with monitoring this public resource and taking care of it. It is one of the few things about the US that still works well. It is also largely constrained to North America. Europe has a very different method.
Would like to give a small update: Some folks came forward and handed over a video to ND Game and Fish... Content is NSFW, and needless to say I really just cannot put my anger into words.
