Call of Duty has come under scrutiny in recent years, with critics quick to point out that each new version is merely a rehash of the previous, and that Infinity Ward / Activision is simply milking what has certainly become something of a cash cow, and the $1 billion made in 24-hours is there to prove it. But now, as YouTube user satantribal has pointed out, there may be a great deal of truth in this claim, since it looks as though the same cut-scene from Modern Warfare 2 has been reused with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. A side-by-side video clip from both titles has been thrown together by the YouTuber that you can check out below, although it’d be a little cruel on some if we didn’t throw in a customary spoiler alert. As you will see in the following 18-second snippet (spoiler alert by the way), it’s almost a frame-by-frame carbon copy of the MW2 scene, and although it’s only a minor cut-and-paste, only but underlines the notion that CoD is becoming a tired annual touch-up of the same game. Holy shit that's lazy.
lmao, really, what the fuck did they expect
I don't really get it... Nearly all animations in this series have been reused since CoD4, some - since CoD2. We have reused sound assets, reload animations, particle effects, everything. But this one is somehow bigger? Come on. It's the same, just reused animations.

Just different textures. That's just lazy as shit.
Holy shit that's lazy.
Lets look at the chart, shall we?
Not Lazy Lazy Dangerously Lazy <------Activision Mojang
To suddenly have a conclusion to the story lift animations from a previous game for a cutscene reeks of severe laziness, because they could've easily had it at least done anew or something.

Flat out using the ending animation from MW2 is much more noticible.
I've seen this posted no less than 5 times and I don't get the hype. It's animation recycling. The video is taken so out of context that you can't really tell what the scene in Ghosts is supposed to be without playing it but if the scene requires two NPC's to drag the player character to safety I don't see what's wrong with using an animation someone else already created. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the overall asset recycling Call of Duty games, and most annual franchise games these days for that matter.
also reused ending
This is not the ending, to be fair. It's actually the beginning of the game where this lazy-ass scene takes place. Ending is also "new", but that's beside the point really.
Guys, this ISN'T the ending. This part is near the beginning. Doesn't make it any less bad though. The title of the vid is stating that it's MW2's ending and that the scene is being reused in Ghosts, the actual ending has something to do with water or some bullshit. I haven't actually looked at it myself but a friend informed me.

God damn you. God damn you x2.
Dude, don't even put sound assets in the same category. People reuse sound assets all the time. Ghosts is still using animations from Modern Warfare 1.
If Ghosts cost $20, then this post would have a valid point.
You probably misunderstood me. I'm not defending this bullshit. It's just, you know, this "reusing everything" shit has been going on since CoD4 (at least). And only now suddenly people notice that it's lazily done shit? Enemy NPCs behave exactly the same. They look exactly the same. They're all the same models since MW2, just constantly retextured and modified here and there. Everything about this series screams "lazy". Not just this scene.
Disney has been doing this for years, big whoop:
There is light at the end of the tunnel though. Only thing this can mean is that the developers don't give a shit about CoD no more, and might stop making them. And move their offices to north korea.
So, uh, do they spend like 80% of the budget of the game on advertising?
Disney has been doing this for yeas, big whoop:
Oh, the days when they put some actual effort behind animation.
Going to have to play devils advocate on this one. This is just a throwback shot for shot of the mw2 ending, not laziness. The animations really are new, just acted out the same way the mw2 ending was. Still, they shouldnt have done it. Such things work well in, say movies, but with games people will just say youre reusing assets even when that wouldnt make much sense. Again, not lazy, but bad for other reasons.
Disney has been doing this for years, big whoop
Doesnt mean that its a good thing to do. Also i dont know if children's shows can be compared to a game with the target audience of young adults.

infinity ward is lazy and garbage, what else is new
Thanks for spoiling the MW2 ending!
