I dun goofed trying to edit the op

sample of the material
A British company has produced a "strange, alien" material so black that it absorbs all but 0.035 per cent of visual light, setting a new world record. To stare at the "super black" coating made of carbon nanotubes – each 10,000 times thinner than a human hair – is an odd experience. It is so dark that the human eye cannot understand what it is seeing. Shapes and contours are lost, leaving nothing but an apparent abyss.
carbon nano tubes at it agian

oh the wonders of carbon nanotubes
Imagine being locked in one of those soundproof rooms where the walls, ceiling and floor are coated in that stuff.
man it's like someone made a solid shape over it in photoshop or something, looks almost surreal
"It's like, 'how much more black could this be?' and the answer is 'None'. None more black."

Sweet jesus
Imagine being locked in one of those soundproof rooms where the walls, ceiling and floor are coated in that stuff.
I think you would lose all perspective of time and maybe even gravity if left for long enough.
Which way would be up?
Imagine if you were also covered in it as clothing?
Imagine being locked in one of those soundproof rooms where the walls, ceiling and floor are coated in that stuff.
Man, an ethics committee would have a field day with that kind of experiment proposal.
That would be fucking kickass as jewelry.

Humans, or probably every living being really, has an innate sense of gravity. If it is strong enough to have an effect, you'll be able to tell which direction it is pulling rather easily.
Imagine this as stealth technology
Sheit

Or alternatively just putting on a blindfold
Imagine this as stealth technology
Sheit
perfect camoflage for hiding in a hole.
and not much else
When can I have this as a shirt
Or alternatively just putting on a blindfold
Surely your brain knows you're blindfolded and compensates for it? Maybe if you were in a room with the void paint your brain would just think its blindfolded and nothing will happen.

Nanoblack is the new onyx.
Make a maze out of it. Floor and ceiling included.
I want a morph suit made out of this stuff.
Still not as black as my soul.
man it's like someone made a solid shape over it in photoshop or something, looks almost surreal
what are you on about it's a photo of it on your computer monitor that's not actually what it looks like
Imagine this as stealth technology
Sheit
It's too black. In most situations you'd actually stand out more than if you were wearing a dark blue or gray.
Imagine all the new magic tricks that you can pull with this. There's no longer fake bottom for our eyes.
Would be cool to have a "silhouette suit" made out of this stuff
Go out in broad daylight and look like a walking silhouette
I want a morph suit made out of this stuff.
Oh right, that's the word I was looking for
Sadly no JAN can recreate the experience.

Sensory deprivation hobbyists might make use of this
Should have named it Abyss Black or something cool.

I wonder what you'd look like if you got covered in the stuff.
"It's like, 'how much more black could this be?' and the answer is 'None'. None more black."
B-but we can still make it 0.035% blacker still!
This is pretty impressive. I've always had a fascination with the way light interacts with various materials and colours, absorption, reflection, diffusion etc etc. Now can we get a car painted in this stuff? Imagine that, I wonder if it would FINALLY food speed detectors??
