North Koreans are actually a lot smaller than the rest of the world. So this guy is pretty tall, but compared to us, he is not that huge.

The border crossing from South to North Korea is permanently occupied by soldiers from the US and NK. They both want to be imposing. The US puts its tallest men there, where they stand completely still and silent for hours. I guess NK can't get any super-tall people so they just put plump, well-fed men there to do the same.
