magine this: You’re wandering through the southern California desert, searching for enlightenment. But all you’ve found so far is dust and dirt…until suddenly, rising out of the parched earth is a sight so confounding, you can hardly believe your eyes: A towering pyramid constructed entirely of Jerry Maguire VHS cassette tapes. In a few short years, this ludicrous-sounding fantasy will become a reality, if 32-year-old Nic Meier achieves his dream. Moore is one half of the duo behind the website and collective Everything is Terrible, which curates (and often re-edits) ridiculous clips from old VHS tapes in online videos and live shows (see: “Yellow Dino: Pedo Hunter”). One of the group’s longest-running projects is the quest to acquire every single VHS tape ever printed of Cameron Crowe’s hit 1996 film Jerry Maguire starring Tom Cruise as a struggling sports agent, which became the highest grossing non-Disney cassette ever. “In a life of many stupid ideas and stupid projects, this is the big winner,” he joked in a recent phone conversation with Yahoo Movies.
https://www.yahoo.com/movies/everything-is-terrible-jerry-maguire-collection-125268269657.html
When they hit 18,000, Meier says, they will purchase land in the California desert near Joshua Tree and build a gigantic pyramid with the plastic bricks.
Amazing. I wonder how much this is going to cost all together.

I can only think about the dude who is out trying to get every copy of Speed on VHS
Reminds me of the eBay auction which was a fridge full of Jurassic Park SNES cartridges.
Everything Is Terrible is great. I'm surprised this went so well for them.
I actually donated one of those tapes! I had totally forgotten about it until now, this is hilariously awesome.
Next time I find a Jerry Maguire tape I'm keeping it for myself. No need to have it get damaged in the desert sunlight.
not quite a complete collection yet tbh.
Got a copy in my attic, come at me boys!
I think I have it on laserdisc.
Won't it become a collectors item and increase in value unless he sells them off or gives them away?
The first part of the article sounds like a Rod Serling introduction.
I have one. It's mine!
They should build a marriage counselling facility out of the VHS tapes.
