I read an article recently in a magazine and I figured I'd just rewrite the good parts here for you all to benefit. It's an interesting read if nothing else. It covers how US Marines clear rooms.

MOUT Techniques
Individual Marines must the taught the following MOUT techniques:
* The smallest maneuver element is the two-man budy team. Two Marines always peel off from the stakc, never one man. A minimum of two men clears rooms.
* Clear rooms and corners as much as possible by 'pie-ing off' all danger areas. By 'slicing the pie' most of a room's interior can be visually cleared from outside it's doorway leaving only the two near corners to be cleared by other means. Do not blindly rush into a room, especially if the door is open. (Editor's note: This technique has worked well for the Israelis for decades by using the solid walls of the door frame as cover and clearing from the room's center to the near corners. The Israeli two-man team hugs the walls, whereas US law enforcement attempts to create as much standoff from the room's outside wall as possible when one office executes this technique by slowly moving one side of the door to the other.)
* Clearing behind obstacles such as furniture.
* Individually identify all uncovered danger areas and cover them such as closets and large pieces of furniture that could conceal a man. One teammate will open the door and the other will cover.
* Prepping rooms with grenades.
* Extremely small rooms may have to be physically cleared by one Marine with his buddy covering him from the doorway. Proper movement and muzzle discipline must be instilled.
* Stealthy movement through debris-filled interiors, including broken glass.
* Marking blacked out stealth entries equipped with night vision gear and PEQ-2 devices.
* Constructing various breaching charges and proper placement on different types of doors.
Individual MOUT Tactics
There are four cardinal rules of Individual Battle Tactics (IBT):
* Cover all immediate danger areas.
* Eliminate all threats.
* Protect each other.
* No one makes mistakes, everyone keys off each other and fills in any gaps created by his buddy and goes with it.
These tactical truths should be indelible and they need not limited to MOUT but can be and should be applied to all small unit tactics. Again it must be emphasized there are no mistakes when it comes to structure clearing, only failure to key on these movements and cover or fill in any gaps created by those maneuvers that are left unsecured and could cause dangerous situations to develop. Marines must adapt to, improvise and overcome these developing situations immediately as soon as they are recognized.
MOUT Movement
When engaged in building clearing operations the squad must minimize its time of exposure on the streets. Particularly in Fallujah, streets can become killing fields if a squad is engaged and trapped there. The squad should form a "stack" with all its elements in appropriate order and move in squad rushes from point to point of cover. During rushing, the squad stack should be slightly staggered when moving in a column formation, providing them with some dispersion. Movement should be rapid but controlled (careful hurry) and involve all-around security. Once the point reaches the final assault point or breach, the stack should tighten up and prepare for entry. Security must be three-dimensional and all danger areas covered. Marines must key on each other and fill in any gaps of coverage detected during squad movement. Individual initiative as well as squad leadership is critical for creating a mantle of continuous security. The smallest maneuver element will be the two-man buddy team.

Some more basic techniques for airsoft:
Learn the correct way to walk, back completely straight with small stable steps.
Don't attempt accurate fire while moving, you won't beat the entrenched defender, and your objective should be reaching a target piece of cover. Instead let your squadmates cover you, having them move up a short distance if needed.
Have the squad move to specific pieces of cover, never just a general area.
Concealment=cover in most airsoft situations.
If you have a DMR, the best place for him while moving through cover is often the 2nd or 3rd spot in the stack, he won't get shot first and he can provide accurate fire immediately in an engagement. LMG's should be a bit farther back so they can find the best location to lay down fire without being wiped out by an ambush. Naturally this changes when stacking to clear a building.
Grenades. Everywhere all the time for everyone and everything.
Stack leaders should always be your most aggressive player in a nonleadership position, especially if they have a lot of CQB experience.
Also, shameless shotgun advertising plug.
My Uncle and his best friend were Marines during Vietnam. His best friend got lost in the jungle for 30 days, and now he's a raging alcoholic, is 100% terrifying, and he may or may not have killed someone in Tennessee.
Hey I do this with one other guy and works out well. Mostly we just scout the area a bit, flank, and ambush. At this one OP. The other team was stealing one of our objectives (5 or 6 of them were there)on a swampy bridge and we were about 30ft away( We're wearing KZS at the time). Just ambushed them and they were all down.
That's almost as much as I make in two weeks..
that's how much I make in one month :v:
I make that in two days but my job is tonka tuff
I make like, ~260-350 a week depending on my overtime. I get a lot of overtime, I had 60 hours last week.
60 hours overtime and you only got payed 350 dollars? Uh...
That's with my normal hours, pre-tax.
Normally I get 8 hours of overtime, a total of 48 hours a week.
These tactics can be used in MOUT and CQB. Use 'em!
