Remember when that woman Helen Thomas resigned? They're planning to replace the spot she vacated with someone from either NPR or FOX.(or bloomberg) Do you really think FOX deserves this spot? I don't. Please sign this petition.
Uhm, no i don't remember. You need more content in the OP to help people who don't know what this is all about. Like me.
Signed.
Can non-us residents sign?
Signed, but is this petition even valid?
Oh god, if we have a Faux News correspondent working in the White House things are going to get even worse than they already are.
Is it bad that I don't even know what NPR is?
Is it bad that I don't even know what NPR is?
National Public Radio.
National Public Radio.
Is it bad that I don't even know what National Public Radio is?
Is it bad that I don't even know what National Public Radio is?
I didn't know it was a major radio station until about a year ago. So I guess it's somewhat normal. :v:
Signed, but is this petition even valid?
Pretty sure it is, yeah [editline]09:31AM[/editline]
Uhm, no i don't remember.
Oh god, if we have a Faux News correspondent working in the White House things are going to get even worse than they already are.
... Every news station has a White House correspondent. This is just for a front seat at news conferences. Nothing to do with the politics of either stations, but Fox represents a MUCH larger portion of the population than NPR.
Signed. Fox is a joke.
Fox is bias and NPR is boring.
Oh god, if we have a Faux News correspondent working in the White House things are going to get even worse than they already are.
This is true. Obama ran his campaign on unity and non partisanship. All he has done is separate the country on the basis of race, religion, political views and many other aspects of this country. Putting someone from Fox News with them may actually be a good thing! [editline]01:28PM[/editline]
Fox is bias and NPR is boring.
NPR is boring which is why it never succeeds at nearly the rate Fox does. And ALL news organizations are biased. It's just that Fox News is on the other side of the other news organizations, and at the same time brings the other side into the argument on their network. Which the same can't be said for the other networks. [editline]01:29PM[/editline]
Nothing to do with the politics of either stations, but Fox represents a MUCH larger portion of the population than NPR.
This is the one smart thing on this thread!
Is it bad that I don't even know what National Public Radio is?
Tsk tsk. But, really. NPR might be a bit more boring, but that's because they don't tailor every story to make it as scandalous as possible, and they actually try to keep bias out of their stories. Sure, FOX gets a seat in the room either way, but it's a matter of whether or not they deserve to get the best seat in the house.
Just to put this in proportion: NPR gets about as many viewers a week as Fox gets in 1 day. Now, whether you agree with Fox or not don't you think that the largest portion of the population should get the best representation? I know you guys all think its a piece of crap, but most of the news watching populace disagrees.
This is true. Obama ran his campaign on unity and non partisanship.
He tried but the Republicans filibustered the fuck out of him. Fox deserves this spot, is there a petition to help them beat NPR? I really don't get all this Fox hate.
npr is just as terrible as fox in fact all news sources in america are fucking awful so uhhh good luck?
most of the news watching populace can be wrong
Very true, but is it up to the White House to choose who they think is right and wrong? Is that their job? Or, rather, should the seat go to who will be reaching the most people. It just seems like a much more objective way to do it. Give the seat to whoever has the biggest following and speaks to the most people on a day to day basis. That way the benefits of having that specific seat will also benefit the largest number of people.
Fox deserves this spot, is there a petition to help them beat NPR? I really don't get all this Fox hate.
They are simply terrible at being reporters. The Sherrod incident should be enough evidence of that.
Fox deserves this spot, is there a petition to help them beat NPR? I really don't get all this Fox hate.
people hate fox news because of glenn beck and really dumb shitty news stories about video games or drugs or other dumb subjects of course they care about the stuff that's only filler or crazy people rather than the news. when you have 24 hours of news to fill you're gonna fil it with dumb bullshit like video game stories. the other news networks do it to fox news is bad but it's not as bad as the other news networks
fox news is bad but it's not as bad as the other news networks
name them
fox news is bad but it's not as bad as the other news networks
no it is objectively more terrible because it's conservative bias is institutionalized and part of it's official mode of operation (everyone has read the internal memos), and even if it weren't, you'd have to be an idiot not to see how much more rampant it is you're just defending fox because it's popular to hate fox and you wanna be contrarian. We got the same thing on this forum in the last year or two of Bush's presidency, where people who wanted to be edgy and rebellious defended him
npr is just as terrible as fox
lol this is one of the dumbest statements that I've ever heard you've obviously never listened to npr
