Absolutely spectacular song that seems to have been completely overshadowed by Quiet's theme (presumably because "woaaah memes") that I've never heard mentioned by anyone up until yesterday morning when I found it by chance in a youtube search. I've got it recorded to cassette and have been listening to it on and off since yesterday for MAX aesthetic.
Eh, I'd say it's overshadowed by Sins of the Father, and for a good reason, since it's a far better song from the soundtrack :v:
Ludvig's pretty good

He also composes for Death Stranding. The raw track is nowhere to be found, but this cover gets extremely close:

Woops, forgot the woah meme came from sins of the father.
Also holy crap the DS theme on the korg is seriously good.
I actually think this might've been originally intended as the theme of the game with an accompanying Snake Eater style intro with Sins of the Father playing over the end credits like Way To Fall, considering there were graphics for an intro that made by the guy who did Snake Eaters and its kind of got that tone to it.
They both also have a corresponding general vibe to them, this being a very 80s sounding song that gets you really ready to get into the game like the Bond-eseuq 60s Snake Eater one while Sins of the Father sounds more like a capstone thing (not to mention its used near the end anyway).
Also cause its literally has the title of the game in it.
God, I have to play MGS V someday.

If you play A Phantom Pain during the car ride (you know the one) it fits the tone of the scene MUCH better. It also makes the long silence where Sins of the Father normally plays feel less awkward.

It also sounds like a song you'd hear on the radio in 1984 rather than some weird ballad.
I also really love the version of The Man Who Sold the World they used.

I had this set as my helicopter music since the day the game came out. Such a great song.
I think the first time you hear it is over the end credits and unfortunately that's only if you stick around long enough to hear it. It probably would have been more popular if it had been featured somewhere in the game itself. As great as Gregson-Williams has been on past games, I think Forssell proved himself with TPP. Can't wait to hear what he brings to the table for Death Stranding.

[del]It's literally the first song you can collect from a radio. It's in Da Wialo Kallai, the village Ocelot sends you to to find information on where Miller is.[/del]
Sorry, it's actually in the base where you get the bionic tech specialist. I do agree that it should have been in a cutscene or something though.

Wakh Sind Barracks, that's the name.
The one from Da Wialo Kallai is Behind the Drapery, also by Ludwig Forssell and very good.

It's best game that will ever disappoint you.
Cool to see some talk about this song. It was one of my favorites, but even still I kinda forgot about it because, as you said, it's overshadowed by some of the other songs. So thanks for reminding me.
Has there ever been a MGS game with a shit soundtrack?
Also despite MGSV's kinda empty story its style is incredible. I was so impressed with it I bought the art book (which I don't do often for games).
I have a coworker who's around 40 and when he heard this his reaction was "Hey is that song from the 80s man? Reminds me of the music I listened to when I was growing up", which was pretty cool. The work put into the music in this game is incredible in general

It's a belly flop of a video game.

Isn't the last like quarter of MGSV just redoing an earlier part of the game? Haven't played it.
I hope in the future KojiPro somehow gets the Metal Gear rights and Kojima fixes MGSV up a bit.

It is. It has some fantastic moments thrown in, but it's not worth playing to the end in my opinion. The tedium greatly outweighs the reward.
The lack of a real ending is what sours the whole experience and the MP isn't enough to satisfy you once it's over.
The first level of the game is fucking amazing, I can't stress how amazing it is, it's probably the best opening to a game ever. However, that only applies to the first time you do it. Since they ran out of time and money, you have to redo it as the final mission to reveal more story info except it's just the same thing you already did and it's so awful this time because you're playing the tutorial again.
MGSV has the best 3rd person gameplay mechanics of all time and it allows you to play the game in so many different ways with how much freedom and tools you're given. It's a damn shame MG survive is a fucking zombie horde shooting survival game because that's what Konami was ripping off in 2016 because the gameplay mechanics would have lent themselves so well to a battle royale game but it's too bad PUBG wasn't around to be ripped off in 2016

More like a third. The rest is pointless busywork.

my all-time favourite song. I'd play this bad boy and then go out killing again
[editline]9th January 2018[/editline]
i'd always try and sync kills up to the "she blinded me with science" line, but I'd blind them with explosives

The artbook was such a hard kick into the balls when I saw all the cut content.
This feels so surreal as I was JUST listening to this theme for several hours on loop all day after browsing through MGSV's soundtrack for old time's sake. Always loved this song in particular.

D-dog with a ballistic helmet and Quiet with an Afro were the greatest things to only exist on paper.

Continues to be my favorite version of the song

the best part of the MGSV soundtrack is the song Snail. It plays [sp]while you have to kill your soldiers[/sp]
however, if you reverse the audio of the song Snail, you get this

makes the emotional climax of that mission even stronger imo
