Yes. Yessssss.
Why is GlaDOS in this film? I'm not even kidding, it's really her voice. Also looks neat to be honest.
Why is GlaDOS in this film?
And a swarm of angry robotic bees in the recording studio that they can't seem to get rid of.
the BWWAAAARRRMMs are pretty annoying/overused, every trailer has them now
sweet fucking semen of baby jesus ughughugh I want to see it now
$10 this movie is gonna get its dick sucked by every valve fanboy because "omg glados synth voice lol cake is a lie"
my first thought was "what this just looks like another generic 'huge CGI mechs fighting things' movie" and then I saw the rocket-propelled fist
Does anyone else think the monster thing crushing the bridge just looks silly? Also, Woo GLaDOS. People better die by its hand.
Ellen's GlaDOS voice sounds a bit goofy in this kind of movie.
Oh god the comments are filled with cake jokes. I'm dying. Also, I will definitely see this movie. It looks fucking sweet.
love that rocket punch
Giant ass robot coop featuring glados, hell yeah.
If she doesn't say "You monster" to one of the monsters, I will walk out the cinema.
Yeah looks sweet, I am not expecting anything genius but at least it's something with a massive CG-I budget done RIGHT. Toro has always been good at making entertaining films, Hellboy being a shining example, those movies were goddamn awesome and had this kind of geeky competent filmmaker soul that a lot of modern directors with huge budgets lack nowadays.
This'll be interesting to see. I know Del Toro is a huge proponent of practical effects over CG, so I wanna know about the production of this - I've heard there was a lot of model-building and reference done for the robots. Also robots punching monsters sounds cool. Just from the trailer it looks much cooler, cleaner, and more understandable than Transformers (which this is doomed to be compared to). I liked the rocket fist because it gave the robots more 'weight'. I never understood about human-controlled robots - why do they have heads? Seems that'd be an easy place to attack, and there's no reason for a robot's CPU to be on a ball on top of its torso where it could be easily damaged. Also, what if the robot falls down but the controller is still standing? [sub][sup]I hope the robot voice does nothing but talk because I do not desire to hear six-year-old memes parroted again and again[/sub][/sup]
I was getting really excited about the trailer, when it showed a pretty immersive set of alien disaster scenes and I thought it would be like a real refreshing alien disaster movie but then glados's voice came up, and the rest of it was actually kind of a turn off to me. it became like mechabots vs alien godzillas or whatever, and it just hit a lot of silly gi-joe vibes for me
Well, it will certainly be very fun to stare at, but it would probably not be the best idea to expect the next Shakesperian play from this movie. I also think that they could have definitely picked a voice better than glados. In such enormous machines, you expect something more similar to the Black Mesa's announcer.
I really wanna see this damn movie.

This is like Lovecraft + Big O + Gundam + ...Portal? Why the fuck is GLADOS in this?
This is like Lovecraft + Big O + Gundam + ...Portal? Why the fuck is GLADOS in this?
It would certainly be rather curious to hear glados saying the famous "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", talk about an unexpected universe crossover.
This is like Lovecraft + Big O + Gundam + ...Portal? Why the fuck is GLADOS in this?
Giant robots beating the shit out of sea monsters with rocket propelled fists. It is like Big O all over again I can't fucking wait.
Portal? Why the fuck is GLADOS in this?
Del Toro likes video games. He talked to Valve and they let him cast Ellen and her GLaDOS voice.
evangelion + portal + Big-O = dis shit
I'm not going to expect anything from this other than a kick ass sci-fi action movie. I loved Big O and this is looking to be very much like that.
$10 this movie is gonna get its dick sucked by every valve fanboy because "omg glados synth voice lol cake is a lie"
So how are you doing? Because I'm a potato.
rocket-assisted robo-fist take my fucking money
Is that JJ Abrams at 0:15?
god the music was awful
Del Toro likes video games. He talked to Valve and they let him cast Ellen and her GLaDOS voice.
But...but why? It's extremely jarring and out of place to hear that voice in the movie. It's like when I recognize a stock sound clip in the middle of a movie; it just rips me right out of the immersion. It also comes off as extremely uncreative; they really had to make it sound exactly like GLaDOS? They couldn't have come up with a more unique computer voice?

It's not THAT big of a deal. It's jarring to us because we've played Portal, but I imagine we're not in the majority here.
