(I know this was in a different thread a few weeks ago, so don't shoot me...) TV HIJACKING On Sunday, November 22, 1987, some guy hijacked the WTTW Chicago Channel 11 TV station. He was wearing a Max Headroom (creepy commercial spokesperson) mask and had a voice distorter. The hijacking lasted for quite a while and ends with him being spanked with a fly-swatter :whoptc: . He was never caught. It's entertaining to watch XD . VIDEO http://www.fuzzymemories.tv/screen.php?c=59&p=1 A while before that someone calling himself Captain Midnight hijacked HBO and demanded lower channel prices. VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFlMHCdYXLM How would you react to this if it happened nowadays? I think it would be creepy, but awesome at the same time. MY REQUEST What I wish would happen is that someone hijacked TV channels nowadays. It would be awesome to have a suprise thrown into your broadcasting every once and a while. TV is probably too secure now that everything is digital and encrypted... TL;DR I whine about how TV is too predictable and boring. I want some funny suprises every once in a while. So what's your opinion on TV hijacking? Sounds exciting or cool? Or just a ranting by a nostalgic retard?
I don't watch TV. I would never see it happen :geno:
im gonna hack into a tv station and goatse it
For a few days, the hijacker would be all over the news. It would be worth the risk IMO.
Too big of a risk for too little fame.
Might be childish but I find that pretty funny. Especially that guy getting spanked with a fly swatter. Although I don't watch TV.
methinks posts 4 and 5 are out of order
or hack in some rape porn to the tv station
Only thing that came to mind when i read the title was V and how he took over the news station and did a nation wide broadcast.
or hack in some rape porn to the tv station
Thats neither clever nor funny, thats just retarded.
Thats neither clever nor funny, thats just retarded.
Yeah seriously, if you're going to do something like that at least do something meaningful or something with purpose not some random shit that will gross people out.
Oh god...if 4chan's Anonymous hijacked a TV station....
Thats neither clever nor funny, thats just retarded.
um no ok its a good idea dont try to stifle my creativity
didnt this happen to fox news a while back??
Oh god...if 4chan's Anonymous hijacked a TV station....
Random bolding is a dumb way to allude to a point and is very annoying. Gay.
Shit.
The people doing this are just trolling the only way they knew how to, remember people this was pre-4chan [editline]08:38PM[/editline] crap i'm late
Late. There's a megathread for this you know. Also, it's called the "Max Headroom Hijacking"
as cosmic duck said: that video is basically pre-4channers
yup That is in the thread I was talkin bout
The pre-4channers pretty much set the standard back then.
That was funny. But I just watch my stuff on online streams.
if that would happen i would just say Meh
Stop.
If it ever happens. Rickroll.
If it ever happens. Rickroll.
No. Rickrolling got old and unfunny a long time ago. Hell, it wasn't really very funny to begin with.
No. Rickrolling got old and unfunny a long time ago. Hell, it wasn't really very funny to begin with.
What about the "lolololololol" Russian singer guy?
Thats neither clever nor funny, thats just retarded.
It was actually done. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_signal_intrusion#Cable_television
As a cable television operator connects itself in the signal path between individual stations and the system's subscribers, broadcasters have fallen victim to signal tampering on cable systems on multiple occasions: On May 1, 2007, Comcast replaced the Disney Channel's program Handy Manny with hard-core pornography for viewers in Lincroft, New Jersey. Comcast's response to the ensuing complaints claimed "We are continuing to investigate the root cause of the incident."[13] On February 1, 2009, Comcast in Tucson, Arizona replaced NBC affiliate KVOA's signal with graphic footage from a pornographic film in portions of Arizona for ten seconds, interrupting the Super Bowl XLIII competition between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers during the fourth quarter. Comcast claimed "Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act. We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine who was behind this." KVOA also announced that it will be investigating the incident.[14][15] The incidents remain unresolved.
Well it wouldn't be too fun if you're alone watching tv in your dark room, then someone hijacks the channel and puts a screamer face and a very loud sound.
Well it wouldn't be too fun if you're alone watching tv in your dark room, then someone hijacks the channel and puts a screamer face and a very loud sound.
If you're alone, watching TV in a dark room then you aren't having much fun anyway, so it would be a welcome distraction from the monotony.
