After playing Yakuza 5 that looks so much more familiar to me :v: I want some ramen now.
This guy has an insane work ethic
The space inside is crazy, it's like having an entire restaurant in a narrow hallway.
He genuinely comes across as he loves it, but damn those hours, I knew the Japanese were work till you die types but he seriously gets no chill. You'd think he might get someone in to do the cleaning at the end of the day but nope, does it all himself, pretty dedicated.
I really want some of that fish and onion noukou ramen now.
His enthusiasm is so wonderful and everything that comes out of that kitchen looks utterly mouthwatering holy shit
Welp getting ramen tomorrow. This made me mad hungry.
this guy is an everyday hero. I don't think I would be able to work those hours let alone work within cooking at all, since it'll just leave me incredibly hungry as I make the dishes lol
With all the regulations and stuff I wonder would this even be allowed here.
wow it looks so well maintained and cleaned up wont find any restaurants like that here
It's a very cozy place, I'd go there if I had the chance of visiting Japan Say, what's that white onion-like thing in the Shio Ramen (id be surpriced if it was actually onion)
I want to get some of his ramen now, shame he serves it on the other side of the world.
wow it looks so well maintained and cleaned up wont find any restaurants like that here
Dude that's all of Japan. From first hand experience everything is super clean, there's hardly any trash on the streets. For example, in Tokyo, there was about the same amount of litter/trash on the streets as my small home town. It's crazy odd from where I come from where you can't walk an foot without seeing a cigarette butt or plastic bag.
That is a ton of fresh product coming in to his shop every day, shows that his suppliers must be like clockwork just as much as him. I wonder if he has a nice life. Enjoys his job and all, but he deserves a nice place to live in, too.
Mad respect to this guy. Surely it's a profitable venture? I think it's crazy how hard he works, if I were in his shoes I'd at least try to get someone to come in at the end of the day to do all the washing and cleaning. But maybe he's of the mindset that "if you want it done right, do it yourself"? Sidenote: the way the narrator pronounced ramen was fucking annoying.

This video really speaks to me, I honestly aspire for his dedication and skills. His talk about wanting to find his calling and working part time there hit me because I'm currently in the same position with my families restaurant. His hours don't sound as crazy to me but that's because my usual hours at the moment here are 8 to 6 sometimes 7 . So to me that's a a standard time. He's right on the dot about the shop owning you, there's so much to keep in check of but it really is the best feeling when customers say we make the best meals and have the customer interaction.

In fact, towards the end, he said that if he got hold of somebody who worked as hard as he did, and had the same work ethic, he would encourage them to strike out on their own and open their own business.
We got a sushi restaurant in our city that I always very much enjoy, serves all kind of dishes too, including ramen, flavored mostly with soy, I usually get at least 3 bowls of them :v:. However I imagine that actually going to Japan to get a taste of the authentic restaurants there will be so much tastier.
since it'll just leave me incredibly hungry as I make the dishes lol
From talking to other food makers, your want for the food you're making goes down a lot actually. You're always working with it so the last thing you want is to eat it :v: that being said I still enjoy some of our food From time to time
Never had Ramen. Now I've got a strong desire for it. Gotta love the foods of different cultures.
Never had Ramen. Now I've got a strong desire for it. Gotta love the foods of different cultures.
Ramen is fuckin delicious but it always one-hit KO's my stomach. They're such huge portions that you leave the restaurant in a food coma, and the day-after-shit you take is monumental. Type of shit prophesized in old Hebrew texts level of monumental. [editline]21st September 2016[/editline] It also tastes really fresh and healthy, too. So even though you feel stuffed afterwards, you don't have that post-binge guilt where you feel awful for eating loads of shit (like with McD's or Burger King).
Never had Ramen. Now I've got a strong desire for it. Gotta love the foods of different cultures.
I just had ramen for the first time last week and all I have to say is you need to go out and get some as soon as humanly possible

I've been working in a Pizza place for almost a year now, usually in 6 hour shifts, and it's pretty hard work, even with other people helping. Knowing that this guy works around 15 hours every day without stopping for a proper lunch break himself just blows my brain out; Here in the states that would be considered illegal.

Downside to it is I couldn't find a damn trash can almost anywhere.
Absolutely loved Japan for the locations such as this. Definitely going to find time to visit his shop next year. Alec W, do you have any tips for affording a reasonable ticket to Japan, or are we pretty much fucked when it comes to ticket prices? I have no idea how much it costs to fly from Europe (or America) to Japan, but I know it's not cheap. It's 700 UK pounds to fly from England to the Middle East return flight. Japan is even farther than that.
He looks really happy. With all that hard work his happiness is what counts. Nice video.
