Place ur betz...
This is a thread for discussing bets placed on the Grand National Horse Racing 2013. Undoubtedly the best horse racing event of the year!
I'm not really an avid horse-racing fanatic, nor a betting-type in general (aside from Poker) but I decided to take a punt this year and throw down £20.50 spread over a bunch of assorted horses.
I think lots of people don't really actively follow horse racing but still put a few bets on horses the Grand National for the hell of it.
Part of my bet consisted of a 4-fold E/W Accumulator. If any 4 of my horses come 1st, 2nd or 3rd I'll get ~ £47,500.
Trebles, if any 3 of my horses win, i'll get ~ £4,581.90
If any 2 of my horses win, I'll get ~ £231.
I think accumulators are certainly the way to go.

Placing your money on people beating horses who do this just to make them run faster.
Logical.

Doing anything even though you'll be dead in 100 years.
Logical.
I bet on treacle or something because my dad woke me up with the newspaper and I was too tired to think
I've won 3 times so far from random guesses

One of my bets is for Treacle. GL.
What always gets me about the grand national is that no one ever puts their best horses in as there's a high likelihood that they'll die, which is why none of the big names are ever present. Its sick.
Got £20 E/W bets on Seabass and Imperial Commander, 5 places and a fiver on Chicago Way to win. Grand National is the only time of the year I have a flutter. :v:

Had a sweepstakes with a random draw at work. I've got £2 on Any Currency, which the newspaper described as "About as appealing as a cypriot bank account". odds are 66-1

what a terrible argument
I bet on Treacle(fml) because the Trainer was called Taffe, Delicious irony.
I don't bet on the Grand National because I'm not on the dole and don't spend 80% of my time in the local Betfred
[editline]6th April 2013[/editline]
and the other 20% in the pub
Final race.
Had £1 E/W on Killyglass who placed 1st at 25/1 and £1 E/W on Caledonia who places 3rd at 33/1.
Up to £70.42 and that concludes my betting for today.
£50 profit. Boom ting.
Work got really quiet when the GN started, we sell a lot of equine products so 75% of our customers were all sat at home, the only people who came in were people who thought the whole affair was sick and immoral.
fucK YOU SEABASS

favourite my ass pssssssssh
I bet £100 and got £204 back!
I put £2 each way on every horse with odds higher than 50 to 1 (about 13 horses).
And £20 on seabass.. and the rest dotted around.
It was the high odds bets that got me the winnings though.
I was going to place use a free £5 bet on teaforthree, but it didn't fucking allow me to use it. It came third in the end, now glad as it wasn't both ways and I would of felt robbed.
I put £1 on Cappa Bleu and £1 on Rare Bob.
Got a tenner.
The horse with odds of 66-1 came first
how fucking incredible
When I bet at Cheltenham my horse got fucking shot so I gave up that particular avenue of This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires.

The way I read that last sentence made it sound like there was a sniper just shooting at random horses.

Man places entire life savings on one horse with ridiculous odds.
All other horses failed to complete, due to being sniped.
Whodunnit!
betting on horses is for jabronis.
