now if only they would do a decent job optimizing they game so people could actually play it
now if only they would do a decent job optimizing they game so people could actually play it
What kinda hardware you trying to run it on? Runs fine on my computer which was originally built in 2011 with a couple of cheap upgrades in like 2013 and 2015.
The game refuses to even launch for me, something to do with the anticheat that I solved once and managed to play for about 2 hours but saldy I can't even refund it because I didnt buy on steam :s:

The community manager is pretty active when it comes to helping people out.

Game doesn't start for me either unfortunately, I got it fixed early on by messing with my graphics card settings and deleting the files in 'my games' folder, then soon after that they updated it after I played for a few days and I couldn't start it again. It generally just starts up and then freezes my computer forcing me to do a hard reset. I'ts a shame I probably wont be able to play this update either... :disgust: I always wanted a Vietnam game where you could play as the Ozzie's

You'll need to look at the wiki for the commands you need to change, but what you wanna try to do is in the .ini file for the graphics engine you wanna set it to run in windowed mode, and manually set the resolution. That's what my issue was, since the defaults it picked up for me were way out of order. As for the anti-cheat, I had a similar issue with RO2 when it first came out, and never even got into it. I played it with bots and really liked the game, but by the time the issues got ironed out, there weren't many players that weren't incredibly skilled at the game. So I missed out on the learning curve part of multiplayer and got disinterested. Tripwire's RO series seems to have always been plagued with issues. They're excellent games, and it's a shame since the issues they get hit with are literally game breaking. I hope you guys are able to square things away cause RS2 is genuinely awesome, especially if you've got a couple of friends. Even if you don't it's pretty easy to make friends in the game.
did I just see akimbo M60s
did I just see akimbo M60s
Twin-mounted on a helicopter, not really akimbo. As for the Aussies themselves in Rising Storm, I'm having a really hard time getting them to 'work' for me. It just really feels that their equipment lacks firepower compared to the Vietnamese. The L1A1 has no significant edge in one-hit-kill propability over the AK, but it is much more limited in ammo, mobility, rate of fire and recoil. The L2A1 LMG isn't worth a damn and you're better off just using the M60 anyway; and all their SMGs are... Well, SMGs. Not really all that great in a game with this kinda combat, and in the situations they DO work, they're still outclassed by papashas and MAT-49s. [editline]29th November 2017[/editline] All in all, it feels sort of like playing the Japanese in Rising Storm 1, where you were pretty much always outgunned in an even fight, but RS1 had the map balance pretty heavily in favour of the Japanese to make up for it.
that didgeridoo sound track they have in the trailers is fucken beaut tbh [editline]30th November 2017[/editline] but god damn maybe it's just cause I'm not used to hearing aussie accents in games but the voice acting seems so hammed up
but god damn maybe it's just cause I'm not used to hearing aussie accents in games but the voice acting seems so hammed up
Red Orchestra has always been famous for hammy voice acting. Embrace the ham, it's part of the game.
Red Orchestra has always been famous for hammy voice acting. Embrace the ham, it's part of the game.
I think it's not nearly as good as RO2, though. Part of it are the voices themselves but mostly it's the dialogue being bland as hell. All the taunts are just some variation of "you suck" and the Aussies don't even drop the word "cunt" at all and the word "wanker" only comes once or twice. How am I supposed to get invested in my Australian character if every other word coming out of his mouth isn't a swear word? Heroes of Stalingrad had some pretty great taunts like "Every 10 seconds, a German dies in Stalingrad, tick tock tick tock, Fritz".
Can't say cunt in a Christian game. Blasting people into bloody chunks is alright though.
Got the game when update came out and there's at least 40% probability that someone's blasting Land Down Under when you join the server with aussies.
One thing that's been annoying me after this patch dropped; every time a server switches to a USA map, everyone disconnects. People only wanna play the Aussie maps. I mean, sure, they're new and fun, but three days of those three maps, not that great.
Can't say cunt in a Christian game. Blasting people into bloody chunks is alright though.
Did that bullshit infect RO2 as well?
Did that bullshit infect RO2 as well?
RS2 Vietnam yes, RO2 is still safe as ever thankfully RS1 is where the first symptoms began showing up, but damn was it still a fine piece of VO work
Red Orchestra has always been famous for hammy voice acting. Embrace the ham, it's part of the game.
Speaking of the Hammy voice acting, the fact they added Proxy Chat made me loose my shit last night. I had a legit aussie dude, playing on the aussie team, screaming gook cunts and stuff you'd think the characters to say. I legit thought it was the voice acting and they stepped it up. But holy shit proxy chat is the best. This game got a whole lot better, now we don't need the voice acting as much since the players do it all way better.
Did that bullshit infect RO2 as well?
Not really. They don't just throw cuss words at each other willy nilly either way and maybe them being foreign made it more acceptable since the German voices sound quite good (I don't speak Russian so I dunno if that sounds weird) but the whole Christian thing hasn't gotten any exposure AFAIK until Killing Floor 2, the soundtrack of which stars a couple Christian Metal bands and a strange policy of PG-13 language, after KF1 had an option to insult players and calling zeds bitches. I dunno how much that rubbed off on RS2 but there's definitely less dialogue overall on top of some kinda stupid taunts that have no bite like "Hey Charlie, you can call me John Wayne", which is probably a reference I don't get but that doesn't prevent it from just being a bad line that nobody would say. Is John Wayne known for killing Vietnamese people?

Seems like TW managed to completely neuter any character they used to have, which is a shame. It's definitely not through a lack of trying because they hired like 15 voice actors for KF2... It does seem to be an intentional choice in RS2 & KF2.
