I grew up watching Bond films, when I heard that Brosnan wasn't going to be Bong again I was pissed off and really didn't like the idea of a new Bond. Now Casino Royale is one of my favorite films. I cannot wait for November and the release of SKYFALL
Oh cool, so we'll actually see Q's gadgets again. That was always a cool part of the Bond flicks, and I'm glad they're bringing it back.
I'm wondering how they will incorporate the gadgets into this films, I mean the last 2 haven't really been the 'quirky, witty bond with a laser/grappling hook watch'.
I'll watch it just for Javier Bardem.
You should also mention that Roger Deakins is the cinematographer (almost the main reason I'm seeing it, him and Mendes make an incredible duo) and that it's the first Bond movie to go digital. Deakins will be using the Alexa, an incredibly powerful digital camera
I'm hoping this one will be leagues better than Quantum of Solace.
looks better than Quantum of Wallace. But since when has a Bond movie been bad?
oh wow, I love Javier Bardem
Why is M in charge, wasn't there a man as head of MI6 in the first few movies? And isn't this a prequel to Dr. No, like the last 2 movies?
I can't remember anything about Quantum of Solace. What even is a quantum of solace anyway?
quantum of solace was a really forgettable movie
I like how the movie is much darker, and the trailer was amazing. Reminds me of the Dark Knight Rises trailer actually.
quantum of solace was a really forgettable movie
it tried to be about something meaningful. Some kind of geographic oil malarkay, but it ended up being pointless.
I can't remember anything about Quantum of Solace. What even is a quantum of solace anyway?
Its actually a company/organization called 'Quantum'. Basically an evil group that work in the shadows and portend to be good by getting 3rd party contractors to do their dirty work. La Chiffre and Domonic Greene were both hired by Quantum. Quantum is basically a NWO style group. They wont be making an appearance (most likely it will be discussed) in SKYFALL [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline]
it tried to be about something meaningful. Some kind of geographic oil malarkay, but it ended up being pointless.
It's not pointless in anyway, its all leading to something big. When Quantum reveals itself it will be with a big bang. Bond has majorly pissed them off. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline]
Why is M in charge, wasn't there a man as head of MI6 in the first few movies? M's name is revealed in Casino Royale, when Bond breaks into her house you can briefly see her name on a sheet of paper.
fair enough, I did enjoy Quantum of Polish in the end. It's probably the most soothing to watch of the Bonds, I'll give it that. But if it wanted to be about Oil, then it should have expanded rather than veer into it then get back to Craig's issue within a minute.
I havnt watched QoS since the theaters. Maybe i should give it another try.
I liked Quantum of Relish a lot, but that's because I love Daniel Craig as Bond.
that's because Craig is a superb actor. I'd say acting wise he's the strongest of all. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him an academy award in the next 10 years, not that it would matter.
I think I am one of the few people who hate Daniel Craig as bond. He just feels so cold and generic, feels nothing like previous bonds at all and completely breaks the whole point of the character.
He just feels so generic
Fair enough with you thinking he's too cold and dark to be Bond that we know, but that makes no sense.
I like pierce brosnan as james bond. I think he nailed it perfect. Not to say i dont like daniel hes a good actor too and maybe as the bond films go on they will get better.
that's because Craig is a superb actor. I'd say acting wise he's the strongest of all. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him an academy award in the next 10 years, not that it would matter.
I wouldn't say that. I mean, yeah he's great, but Sean Connery.
I wouldn't say that. I mean, yeah he's great, but Sean Connery.
He may have been the best bond, but was he the best, most intense screen actor?
its just that, to some, the other bonds may have more charisma, since Craig is cold, like you said. I think that makes it more realistic, though
Isn't Ralph Fiennes in this? And from what I understand from the trailer, the first part is just 007 and presumably his handler, going through a very long multi-part pass phrase. Or a Psychiatrist and him doing the whole first word that comes to your mind thing.
quantum of solace was a really forgettable movie
So was just about every movie produced during the writers strike. tl;dr version: hollywood learns the hard way that movies suck without decent writers.
I get the feeling Bond is amnesiac or similar
I suppose [sp] Skyfall is some super secret MI6 thing, where Bond kills a metric shit ton of British nationals [/sp]

the bond girl had better be hot. i can't remember for quantum because that one kind of sucked but i can for casino. vesper=best bond girl ever. period. and i like the idea of some quirky little twirp being Q instead of some wise old guy. sort of represents the coming of the new era in Britain, from a "a house with a room and a view" to guy richie and trainspotting.
