As some of you know, there is actually a non-shit show on the History channel called Life after people. London, around 50 odd years after people. Basically it is when everybody on earth vanished at the exact same time and what would happen to the things we left behind. All that pretty much survives after millions of years is a few buried pyramids, the moon buggies, our skeletons and Styrofoam cups. However i am curious, and some of you probably are as to other things not covered by the show so far. For example, what would happen to our computers, fish ponds, kitchen cutlery or watches and such. Plus have any of you seen a place in real life that has been abandoned by humans for a period of time? I myself have watched a sad church, abandoned by humans decompose over 10 years of my life since i first saw it, but it has been abandoned for 28 so far, it has held up surprisingly well for that period of time. Though you cannot see it, there is a lot of plants growing over the sides and back and many more windows are shattered, in a century the roof will cave in and a thousand years will reduce it to a heap of rubble.
Sounds interesting. I don't get the history channel anymore though because apparently it's a premium channel now :( Fucking scrooges.
That show is actually pretty old, I watched when it first came out a few years ago.
When all the people vanish, only Will Smith will remain.
Or am I thinking of the one on discovery? :geno: [editline]01:18AM[/editline] Auto-merge broken
I almost wish London would rot like that, it looks a lot nicer. :smugdog:

Is this the one with Fruity Rudy Reyes?

I will be in hiding, feasting on my infinite stash of twinkies.
This show is badass.
Who gives a fuck. If were all dead we are all dead. The interesting thing is that virus that could do it.

Never been there myself though. Was abandoned after the chernobyl blast. This is the pool presumably 10 years after the blast: This is it in in 2003, 7 years after:
I love this show. It seems so accurate and devastating after we leave this planet.
This show kinda scares me.
Why do we push the envelope of cardboard? a simple question. But is not in the simpleness as the jumblee going down at Jump-Jive-N-Wail all the way down to Electric Avenue. Because once it gets it's charge, it will be able to mate with thier head and take control of the brainstem, which is quite a musical part of the whole spin-cycle. It really is amazing, as by putting it through it's paces, you'll find it groes more poiple as the night shines, shines, shines on. I was able to come to this conclusion because I was able to board a meteoroligical plane with my, two tickets to paradise, won't you, pack you bagsw ill leave tonight, I got, two tickets to paradise, won't you, pack your bags, will leave toooonnniiiiiiiight, 'cause i'm T-N-T, im dynomite, T-N-T, and i'll when the fight! T-N-T im a power-loaf, T-N-T, watch meeeeeee exploooooooooode high on the roooof, thin the bloood, another one came on the waves tonight.

In theory it could become a pirated version of the game, without a crack however. In laymen's terms, this means that we won't have any more porpoises after a few years. Clearly that would be a wrong choice, as the skype chat just can't handle that load. Although the glass table could easily break, this is often outside of the plane. The speakers just can't handle Dr. Pepper through the wires, so you must use brute force. Childs play compared to what you described, but this is much more possible, and even easier to compile the files into a smaller version of it.
They did discuss Pripryat on the show. Also, I think that exact pool is in COD4
That whole city in CoD4 was based off Prypiat, so.
I think that pool's in one of the STALKER games as well.
That whole city in CoD4 was based off Prypiat, so.
Right, but the positioning of things is a bit off. IIRC, IRL, the ferris wheel is right behind (or in front) the hotel you just rappelled out of before it explodes, but in COD4 it's across map right outside the swimming pool, which IRL I think is in the main building you'd go into before reaching the hotel in COD4.

No pool would stay that clean for ten years, and look outside, too. That was before the blast, not after.
What do you mean by "Look outside"? Plant life stayed perfectly fine after the reactor exploded.
He's refering to the water fountain.
I like this show. Although I don't much care for watching television on how the Earth will be after I die, I do like the scenes of real-life deserted places and the little tidbits of information they put in there. Plus I like to see how everything will look 250 years from now. [editline]03:33AM[/editline] And I want to go to Chernobly before I die. I want to see all the cool shit that's been practically frozen in time.
A. It's closed. Recent events have lead to it's closure to tourists. B. Nothing is frozen, the place has been basically looted clean. (Don't get me wrong, I'd love to visit too.)
Surely you mean before the blast? No pool would stay that clean for ten years, and look outside, too.
