Because it still gets bypassed easily. I'd prefer an option to none anyways.

So what? That's not an argument since their DRM is bypassed easily too, so might as well take the one that's less of a pain in the ass for the customer.

This really, all their drm gets cracked anyway. With Steam, your game is also bound to get cracked but atleast most people won't complain.

Im sure it isnt much, and steamworks is free, which is such a boost to the game in terms of community, achievements screenshots, cloud savegames and settings etc. why the fuck not ubisoft

Probably because they have deals and contracts with publishers which won't let them do it.
