I saw threads over a year ago on /co/ with people calling themselves Belly Bros, although facetiously.
I don't see it happening. They should have kept the drawn animation also imo. That CG looks creepy.
I'm pretty certain MLP was a massive fluke. A repeat - particularly a manufactured one - isn't likely any time soon.
To attract the fedorabeards it needs escapism, female interaction (either cast is female or there is plenty of romances), sexualizeable characters (good luck understanding what that is in their minds), and le ebin references maymays to attract the Reddit crowd.
Hard to get right unless you are one yourself or you get a fluke.

If they make a great first season and shit all over the rest, maybe.
Well MLP proved that you can attract manchildren easily to sell A LOT of merchandise to people with their own economy.
Getting an adult audience for your merchandise is every toy manufacturers dream, kids have to scream and cry at their parents to cooperate to spend their money, adults can spend much more on themselves than parents would on their childrens toys.

Yeah, back when I was into mlp (I'm sorry) I remember hearing about how a dude who worked on the care bears show started sending emails to like big people in the brony fandom.
He said somethin' like "this show has the same themes as my little pony, so you all should love it. Maybe you should call your self brobears or belly bros!"
