I don't see why they're bothering. HoN is exactly what everyone wanted from DotA.
Wait, they actually hired him to do something?
Whats DotA
And yet another reason as to why VALVe is the best PC developer out there. Don't get me wrong, I don't like DoTA, but the fact that they took the creator under their wing, so that he can create something new is just unique.
How about reading the article? "Last October, Valve Hired the man known as Icefrog, creator of the insanely popular Defence of the Ancients Warcraft 3 mod, and he's been leading a project ever-since."
We have Defense of the Ancients, Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends already so why is he making another one. Until I see some pictures I can't judge it.
I played DotA. It wasn't fun in the slightest.
Maybe he has a new unique twist that leaves HoN and LoL in the dust or something. Give him a break, he designed DOTA so I think he knows what to do.
I wonder what this project is, could be very interesting
Dota is the worst fucking game ever made.
Dota: Fun at LAN parties, fucking brutal whinefest online.
I wonder what kind of pretty little game's gonna spawn from this project?
Please for fuck sake let it be Prospero
This, Gabe said that he would love to work on Prospero when all the L4D1/2 stuff is done, Prospero is supposedly a FPSRPG and this guy designed DotA which is an RTSRPG mod. Besides, I think we have enough DotA games out there.
TEAM FORTRESS DOTA EDITION. Totally suck.
It would be nice if Valve released a totally new franchise. It's been a while since they have. I mean I know L4D only came out in '08 but it didn't exactly take long to see all the new content in that game.
Please for fuck sake let it be Prospero
That would be amazing. I'd love to see Valve develop a title that isn't strictly a first person shooter. Do you think it'd still utilize the Source Engine? I'd imagine so, but I've always been curious what Valve content would look like on a different engine.
What's Prospero?
While I'm interested to see how this is gonna turn out, I'm inclined to agree with everybody else, S2 games is a great indie game company. I've played all of the games they've made, and all of them are fun and very well polished. I've got nothing but high hopes for HoN, even if I don't buy it.
Dota is fun with friends but public games are just a big whinefest
What's Prospero?
Valve's first project that was never done.
HL universe DOTA.
Want Episode 3? Tough shit have some DotA bollocks instead.
it seems that VALVe won't release Episode 3 after Portal 2...
Dota is fun with friends but public games are just a big whinefest
This, It's very fun with friends. Less fun in public though.
I have a confession to make. I can't play DotA AT ALL Am I the only one?
Please for fuck sake let it be Prospero
Ha that'll be the day.

With many people. Not just one.
Where does it he's actually working on a DOTA related game?
I love how the title of the article says "DotA project", yet in the Q&A he doesn't say a single word about it being a DotA clone :v: [editline]03:45PM[/editline] Wiggles :argh:
