Song is kick-ass, but the video needs to be redone with better graphics and removing the HUD altogether.
Hey there. Yeah I'm the guy who made this, just posting to answer some questions:
First, I wanted to do this whole thing animated but the video was done for a contest and the requirements called for in-game footage. So I figured I'd take the lazy route.
And yeah I only spent about 3 hours putting the thing together and the deadline was tonight so yes, indeed, it was a rush job.
I learned about the song by hearing it at a live concert at Megaplex last saturday and after looking at the guy's site yesterday I learned of his machinima contest.
In the end I compiled the footage in flash and, due to a lack of any people being online and willing to help act out scenes, i just taped some random ingame footage and used it as needed, problem was I couldn't turn the damn hud off because my TF2 is bugged.
Basically I had one problem after another makin' the video and even porting the damned thing to youtube was a bigger problem than it should have been (footage kept improperly looping, playing to the begining of video files instead of where they'd been edited to start playing etc...), so I'm sorry for offending anyone's eyes. I am using this now as an animatic for what'll be a full-fledged animated version coming out for Matthew's next concert.
But yeah, for a quick 3 hour solo job it came out better than I think most people could do entirely on their own. I was very unhappy with it from the start but it's not like I had any time left or options.
