Hi Facepunch! So. I posted about 2 months ago about me being in a motorcycle accident and Shit. I won my case. Now i have about... 7k to spend on s new car! I was looking at a 2001 Ford mustang gt. Just curious... What car would you buy.

Not that gen mustang. New bike? Prius? Lol.

In regards to the OP - I advise that anyone who really wants a well handling car for not a lot of money should buy a 2000-2003 BMW. They are easy(ish) to work on, look great, and drive like nothing else. I love my 740, and I love my friends 530.

3rd gen mr2 spyder. Had one with the Sequential tranmission for a weekend. Manual soft top that u could open or close in about 10 seconds with one hand. Handled great got decent gas milage. 24 gaining it hell. 31 crushing 75mph on the highway. Do u have a car now? If so what's wrong with it? If nothing stock the money in a cd for a year or two let it gain interest. I would love to have the cash now I have pissed away on stuff I really didn't need.

upgrade from your old ninja 250 to a 650. You can buy new for 7000.

I have no car. I really have 9000 but i don't want to spend to much also i only have a tag for a motorcycle. Means no car. Also. I can't get another bike without having a car because my lady friends mom would castrate me and never let me see her kid again. Btw I'm 18... Never owned a car before. Got a motorcycle and got hit within 3 weeks.. If it want for my chick i would be getting me the new kawasaki ninja 650r 2013. Or one of those cheap bikes i see on craigslist ... I can vouch for the W123/W124 on concur's list. Grandfather had a 300TD, the biggest diesel afaik, and it ran for a good 650,000 km before he sold it on with no problems (though this was when it was nearly brand new and obviously not ~30 years old). Anyhow lots of small stuff will break and such so you need to be a bit finger-handy and an owners manual for those things are a must. It's very, very far from a sporty vehicle, the 0-60 time takes about a week but it's a reliable car and it will start every time, as long as you keep the maintenance up and you fix the small problems before they get big. though if you want a sporty vehicle, please don't get it. :v:

Honestly if I had 7k I would probably spend it on a 1970 Cutlass.

depends on the winters I guess. if he is somewhere where they salt the roads a ton, the car would be gone within the winter which probably wouldn't be too good for a 7k car. I mean not even a good rust protection will help from getting salt into the smallest cracks underneath the car.

I checked his steam account. He lives in Florida.

well then I guess snow and salt won't be too much of a problem.

They dyno about 260hp stock. Me personally, it sounds amazing with the right exhaust though. 03 and 04 cobras in that gen have the Supercharged 4.6L 4V DOHC and they are awesome cars to work with, excellent power too. 03 and 04 Mach 1s have the same motor just without the supercharger and add Ram Air.

If it were me i would probably get a toyota supra mk3.

[editline]9th February 2013[/editline] New transmission for my pickup, and the rest would go into my MkII Supra. :) But for $7k, just look around and see what you like. When you find something, keep looking.

What about a 93-2002 camaro? For what you have you can get a nice one with a lt1 or even a LS1, great stock quarter mile times and pretty good mileage.
