Because the American government selectively chooses to send aid to countries depending on their own interests, not to genuinely help the country. Military rule in Egypt doesn't befit the Americans so aid is gone. Atrocities committed by Israel against the Palestinians don't matter though, Israel will still get aid.

To a certain extent, ins't that normal and OK? Not the Israeli case of course, but we don't have to send aid to anyone. It just kind of seems like two brothers arguing about getting an equal amount of their neighbors fruit.
How much aid do the other first world nations give to other countries?

This matters though, we sponsor state terrorism in some countries, but if there is turmoil in a country we will stop sending aid. And while I admit that it probably plays into some sort of international geopolitical plan we cannot run around touting freedom and righteousness when we do hypocritical things like this.

Wait, what? They can give aid to whoever they want, but they need to be consistent? Consistent in giving aid to who they want? I'm not quite getting your point.
Personally, I believe this could actually be the right decision. Egypt is very volatile right now and giving aid to this coup would antagonize a lot of people against the US for supporting it.

In the case of US aid to Israel the US isn't even acting with its best interest in mind though. The aid is a result of intensive lobbying and dumbass evangelicals that want to see "bibilical prophecy" fulfilled. Israel is a strategic liability to the US, it has been since the cold war.

US support for Israel was the key motivating factor for the 93' WTC bombing and the 9/11 attacks, I think that is all anyone needs to know to recognize Israel as a strategic liability.

Honestly, I think the simple fact that the Jews have been the most consistently oppressed people group in human history makes people sympathetic to their desire and need for a homeland.
