This is amazing,

It would be creative if it actually proved a point, but everyone just sat there then clapped and left when it was over- the meaning seemed to be lost.
The violinist was off key.

You don't know art!

Hilariously embarrassing cough.
I would have been pissed if I paid money for this.
Some people don't grasp the concept and that's fine. Music is what we believe to be music.
Can you imagine being in that room. Informed like they were, listen to the environment and that is the music.
I'm sorry, this is just dumb.
John Cage wrote this piece to prove a point - that there is no such thing as true silence. And he was and is right. John Cage thought of all sounds as music (and vice versa), and that even the sounds of cars in rush hour could be considered 'music'. He wrote some pretty interesting and in a lot of cases controversial pieces.
Also the 3rd movement of 4'33" was my favourite. :v:
Oh and it should also be considered that this was written way back in 1952.
man that was a funky beat.
especially around 2:30.
Wouldn't be so bad if the composer didn't look like such a smug asshole.
How to be awesome:
1. Go to a performance of 4'33
2. 30 seconds in, raise a boombox over your head, blaring "Anaesthesia - Pulling Teeth", the most epic bass solo ever recorded
3. ???
4. Get kicked out.
Seriously. I would do that. Modern composers are forgetting that they're supposed to be making music. 4'33'' is not music - it is performance art disguised as music.
Silence qualifies as music? I think that's the opposite of the intention of music. That's like 90 minutes of a black screen and calling it a movie or producing a book with blank pages. It's wasting everyone's time for the sake of "Art".
Hahaha what's happening at 5:29? SHOW'S OVER EVERYONE LET'S COUGH

Silence is considered a core part of music but nonetheless, I wouldn't pay money to watch an orchestra sit on their asses.
I don't understand why are they flipping pages after a segment ends?
How does this qualify as music if they don't actually do anything?
It's just silence.

Yeah yeah, whatever. Just like art is smearing 3 different colors on a canvas.
Vote for it as Christmas song number one!

Silence can be used to enhance or be apart of something to make it better, i will give you that. But this is still ripping people off and becomes offensive when you realise that the guy who produced 4'33" started suing people for using silence.
