With Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning out the gates, this game finally has some time in the spotlight and boy does it look good. Dragon's Dogma puts the player in the shoes of the "Arisen" a person with great power whose goal is to track down the dragon that stole his/her heart and get it back. Today, Capcom released a new trailer for Dragon's Dogma that highlights some of its spectacular gameplay. If you have a twitter, you might want to retweet the trailer for a chance to win the first DLC for FREE. This $7 DLC contains 100 side quests that offer a wealth of loot for players to get their hands upon. Including these side quests as DLC is incredibly shady on Capcom's part, but I suppose there's nothing we can do about it, that is until somebody cracks the disc and unveils the rest of the locked content. Until then, hit the jump to read up on what Dragon's Dogma has to offer! Although the story doesn't really sound like anything we haven't already heard, it's the gameplay that really captivates me. Dragon's Dogma looks to offer the great combat found in Reckoning as well a deep experience like that found in other RPGs. The highlight of Dragon's Dogma isn't just on its combat - which has some beautiful animations and effects - but also upon its Pawn System. You see, traveling around the world of Dragon's Dogma can be dangerous, so you'll need some companions, that's where the Pawns come into play. Pawns are essentially secondary characters that can be customized to your liking to aid you on your quest. Your pawn is connected to Dragon's Dogma's online Pawn trading system which allows other players to download and use your pawn, allowing him to gain knowledge about quests and the world. Although co-op online would have been nice, the Pawn system is an ample supplement. Dragon's Dogma will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 22 in North America and May 25 in Europe. The game isn't out for a month and they've announced DLC? ...I'm not even surprised any more. Atleast it's cheap and has a lot of content.
Yep, that's Capcom.

Its stupid shit like paying for weapons that is the main problem.
Shame it's not coming out for PC, it seems kinda cool.
no PC version too thanks capcom
Capcom is fucking atrocious. This has just gone overboard now. Announcing DLC before the game launch is one thing, and but 100 fucking side quests? That's 100 cut from the game to milk sales. God, good thing I don't care about Capcom's games except for Resident Evil 6 maybe, they're not getting a cent from me otherwise.
Also, the source url doesn't seem to work for me. http://www.analoghype.com/video-games/playstation-3-news/dragons-dogmas-first-dlc-includes-100-side-quests/
Wait how many sidequests does this game have anyway?
maybe they should start charging for unlocking high quality textures and shaders and large resolutions next and call that DLC as well [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] and announce that pre-release as well [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] "unlock stereo sound in your game for only $3.99!" [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] valve should make the 90 degree FOV setting in tf2 only be enabled via a special hat you can only find in a crate [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] maybe mouse input support could be another idea for DLC as well
I hope you guys are forgetting that Capcom has been releasing their full games for $40 dollars recently, right? I'm not sure about their recent track record but that's pretty generous in my book, compared to some pricing on games.
Oh, they're releasing a bunch of sidequests for Dragon's Dogma's first DLC? Cool, I'll get a lot more play time out of Dragon's Dogma that way. I can't wait to play all those Dragon's Dogma sidequests. ... What the fuck is Dragon's Dogma?
capcom i bet resident evil 6 will have 100 costume packs, maybe even resident evil 7 will be included as a preorder dlc
"For $5.99, you can unlock black people! And for just $2.99 more, you can re-lock the blatant racism that came with the previous DLC!"

You're right, this is fucking bullsthit!
10 caps says it ships on the disc. Also 10 caps says that all the other DLC is on there too.
Sidequest: Kill 5 Wolves. QUEST COMPLETE.
I love watching people fight over this. Thank god I don't have an interest in this game.
10 caps says it ships on the disc. Also 10 caps says that all the other DLC is on there too.
No, 10 NCR bucks. Take it or leave it.
No, 10 NCR bucks. Take it or leave it.
10 Septims.
10 Septims.
10 Legion Aureus's
10 rupees
Now, publishers like EA, Activision and the like, THAT's a DLC.
Now, publishers like EA, Activision and the like, THAT's a DLC.
If it's on disk this is an absolute disgrace, worse than anything EA has done that was DLC related.
Doubtless including such exciting sidequests like "FETCH ME 5 GIANT RAT HIDES" Really, if it's boasting 100 sidequests you can bet they're all throwaways. Anyways, the game looks awesome and there's a token for the RE6 demo included so I'm already sold. :v: [editline]11th April 2012[/editline]
If it's on disk this is an absolute disgrace, worse than anything EA has done that was DLC related.
If you haven't heard, Capcom's games have recently started having absurd amounts of pay-to-unlock on-disc DLC. The worst offender was SFxT, with a ton of characters locked on the disc. Supposedly they weren't done, but hackers cracked them and were playing them online as fully functional, working characters. I fucking hate Capcom. I still through money at them occasionally, though. I guess I'm just a terrible customer.
10 rupees
10 zenny.
announced before hand doesn't mean it was cut you schmuck
It's always annoying to see people jump to that conclusion when a developer announces DLC before the game launches. Yes, some publishers do lock away content that's on the disc from the get-go, but it's like most people can't comprehend the concept that at some point the developers need to go "Right, this is what'll launch with the game, let's spend the rest of our development time polishing it up so it isn't an unoptimized buggy pile of shit on launch." However, they still might have a thousand things they wanted to put in the game, so why not release it as DLC post-launch? Should we get it for free? Both yes and no. We have no rights to anything, you buy a license to play whatever they want you to play, if it's locked away on the disc and requires no additional development time to unlock and it launches as Day 1 DLC, then it's an awful thing to do, but if it has to be developed post-launch and then released as actual DLC, then I don't really see the problem as the additional development time and resources spent on it will have to be gained back somehow. NB! I do not condone day 1 DLC, and I find it just as annoying as the rest of you when it feels like we're being milked dry for stuff that's already on the disc, but if this isn't on the disc from day 1, then there's no real problem.
If it's on the disk they're just being assholes, but it's $7 and has a lot of content by the sound of it, so it's not too bad.
If it's on the disk they're just being assholes, but it's $7 and has a lot of content by the sound of it, so it's not too bad.
I imagine by "100 side quests" they mean "100 fetch quests".
I hope one of these quests is facing off against Monster Hunter monsters, like Rathalos or Jinouga. Don't screw this up, Capcom, you stuck Rathalos in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, you can stick him in here.
100 side quests including: "get me 5 dog" and "get me 6 carrot"
