DAMNIT, DD!
So yesterday, I went to a psychiatrist and I suppose it was a productive session... Only, he told me that I can't smoke any weed for the next two years, for my own mental health... I really want to get better, so I'm going to have to trust him on this... fuck.
Weed was like, my miracle herb! It would alleviate my constant depression, as well as calm me when I would have moments of anxiety and rage... now I have NOTHING to relieve this bullshit... Any advice for what I can do to alleviate depression, anxiety, and anger that doesn't involve any drugs?
did you speak to him about the fact you think it helps you, or just take his suggestions as he's a smart doctor person?
Meditation. Find your center.
Did he say why?
My counselor also told me not to smoke weed but... I did lol.
Don't smoke weed... That's bullshit. If something as harmless as weed helps you through life, don't stop...
Weed can worsen you, but if it helps that is not worsening. It's better-ing :).
Well I would be sceptical about "stop smoking weed".
explain to him that it has helped you and he would probably take that into consideration
Do it anyways and find another way to get what he wants out of you.
are you a schizophrenic or something like that? cause if you're not it sounds like it could just be some bullshit your parents set up or just some retarded anti-drugs guy. my friend goes to a psychiatrist and the guy doesn't mind him smoking at all.

I told him that it helps me. he told me that for him to gie me any proper diagnosis', I'd have to give up weed for a good while.

How do I do this?
Did he say why?
It may or may not worsen my conditions.
explain to him that it has helped you and he would probably take that into consideration
He didn't. lol.

I might be. He told me that I experience two of the three symptoms for Paranoid Schizophrenia. Audial Hallucinations as well as Delusions of Persecution (The other one, which I don't experience, is Delusions of Grandeur if you're interested.)
Well weed can make you paranoid, and I heard that schizos can get worse with smoking weed...
Now, it depends what strain you smoke, one with high THC and low CBD is not good, while one with low THC and high CBD is good.
CBD is anti-psychotic, THC is not.

On the contrary, when I would smoke weed, I would feel... euphoric. My depression would all melt away... I wouldn't get paranoid. In fact, I noticed myself experiencing feelings of safety and security, a polar opposite from how I normally feel sober.
And... what's CBD? I know what THC is but... yeah.
If you have symptoms of Schizophrenia, you should definatly stop smoking!
Sorry to say dude but the doctor knows best. (the doctor of strange love)

and before anyone says weed or high CBD strains of weed could help, thats a very bad idea. There is no where near enough research to prove either way, so it's safer not too.
Hope you get better dude.

Cannabidiol, the second most abundant cannabinoid in weed

Sure thing Justin Bieber.

why do people judge me based on my avatar

I don't know if that's true.
My friend is schizophrenic and he is perfectly fine with this.
He smokes every day.

I said nothing negative... I was just trying to be, you know, a bit friendishly humorous but clearly, one of us messed up and either I came off as harsh or you couldn't take it. My apologies, good sir.
THC is known to aggravate symptoms of schizophrenia.
Indica-dominant strains (More CBD than THC) can be therapeutic, but it would definitely be best to stay away from Sativa-dominant strains (More THC than CBD)
if you have schizophrenia get some xanax from him
then you dont need weed
Well Anubis said what I wanted to say.
I have red somewhere that THC induced big dopamine flow, and schizo people have to much dopamine in their brains. Well not for all cases of schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is the result of too much dopamine.
Large amounts of dopamine cause hallucinations and delusions.
What do you think OP? Are you willing to risk worsening your condition? Bear in mind that it might do the exact opposite, it might help a ton. But what will you risk?
I think if weed made you crazy(/ier) that would be all over the news...just like when it supposedly killed off your brain cells.
It's ultimately your choice if you want to smoke, or not. I wouldn't stop just because that's what a psychiatrist said.
It doesn't make you crazy, it just aggravates certain pre-existing conditions
Imo, even if your a tad schizo you shouldn't smoke.
Weed is not the solution, you don't need it, your brain just thinks you need it.
If you have schizophrenia Pot would make your symptoms worse and way more noticeable. Plus two years is way to long for any sort of "trial" period. By what you've said so far it sound like this fucker is roping you in to allow him to have a bigger salary for the next two years. Ask him if he has ever smoked pot if not get a doctor that has. I would much rather have a doctor that went through the tribulations of "Hunter S. Thompson" phase, and knows what all recreational drugs do for the mind. Some shit you can't learn from a textbook.
Yeah, if you would be seriously schizo, pot would bring that out.
Just for experimental note, doctors way back dosed schizos repeatedly with LSD-25. After effects of those were surprising, schizos weren't schizos anymore. Don't know for how much until they had to repeat it, if they even needed to.
