Former-footballer-turned-boxer Curtis Woodhouse went to extraordinary lengths to put a Twitter user who abused him in his place.
The 32-year-old, who switched to boxing in 2006, lost his English light-welterweight title to Shayne Singleton on a points decision on Friday night.
He subsequently received taunts from ‘Jimmyob88’ a Twitter user who described Woodhouse as a ‘disgrace’.

“Right Jimbob, I’m here,” Woodhouse tweeted, “Someone tell me what number he lives at or do I have to knock on every door #itsshowtime.”
Although he didn’t end up actually meeting the troll, Woodhouse settled for simply giving him a serious scare.
“Just had a call from somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody and @jimmyob88 has asked what he can do to make me go away!”
Good. I have no sympathy for people who think they can make asses of themselves in an anonymous online setting with no repercussions. No one was hurt and he was scared so everything turned out alright.
What a twat.
Oh shit, I better watch out.
Someone said mean things about me on the internet?! Well, the only logical course of action is intended assault.
Normal people wouldn't give a shit what some troll says on the internet. Honestly this just makes him look like a fucking idiot.
I dunno
I mean he probably had the troll just about shitting his pants and he didn't even get to see him. If that's not a victory over a troll I don't know what is.
He went through all that trouble to basically demonstrate that he was super butthurt. Isn't the objective of trolling to make people mad? It sort of looks like the troll really "won" here.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Well, maybe a little bit.

Just a teeny, tiny bit.
People seriously need to chill about what gets said about them on the internet, they're someone who doesn't know you saying something that doesn't matter
Woodhouse, angered by the jibes, asked his followers if they could help him locate the user in real life, offering a £1,000 reward for information.
That's just a mix of butthurt and desperation.
That's just a mix of butthurt and desperation.
This went far beyond butthurt, this is complete anal and rectal agony.
Butthurt would be just returning fire with "NUHUH UR DUMB FUK U FAEGET"
Thusly, whole new level.

I'm sure the troll would have definitely been thinking that if woodhouse had found him and beat the shit out of him.
im guessing he did this becuase it was a funny idea, not becuase this troll genuinely made him mad enough to go after him.
A true troll would turn up, get his ass beat a bit, then press charges for assault.

And / Or lawsuit.
Reminds me of the end of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.
I thought this was going to be an episode of Archer about Archer's butler.
I like how you guys will simultaneously get your soapbox out about how cyberbullying is a serious problem in one thread, yet in another like this you'll say he's overreacting.
Good on him, one of the few problems with social media is people aren't really held accountable for their actions or speech. Like it or not, fear is a necessary component of good social graces. After all how likely would you be to say this to his face?
He went through all that effort because he's rich, successful, and can do whatever the fuck he wants. He scared the piss out of the anon. HE'S the master troll, and for that:

Saying you don't like a boxer isn't cyberbullying, and fear is a bad bad bad way to prevent people from being dicks to each other. You do NOT respond to criticism by threats, this guy will probably end up in legal trouble for intimidation
Also obligatory "Facepunch is not a hivemind"

Yeah except thats not what happened at all.
Saying you don't like a fighter is an opinion, and one that most would not have a problem with. Rather what happened was this little douchebag went out of his way to personally attack and slander:
""Whats funny u put so much effort in, sacrificed all that time and failed to defend your Mickey Mouse title," was one of the more palatable messages from the @jimmyob88 handle, part of a stream of rants laced with offensive language."

The source used in the OP doesnt actually highlight any of the things this guy said, so it lacks context for the follow up action.

People should be allowed to make fools of themselves anonymously. The whole point is the lack of repercussion and the lack of embarrassment. It was silly of Woodhouse to take personal offense to jimmyob88's statements. If your words aren't going to be backed up by accountability, then they are easily discredited. The former English champion boxer should not give a shit about what some random twitter user has to say.
Curtis Woodhouse you're a disgrace
come get me
Calling someone a disgrace for losing a fight is pretty fucking tame, and well warranted. Shit any coach would say the same thing, but you don't see any professionals beating the fuck out of their coaches for it.
This man is a big baby about the whole situation.

Surprised no one posted this yet

I doubt he was actually going to do anything

That's not really the case here is it, the guy appears to have just turned up to remind the person that they aren't just a person on the internet. This is why if you are going to insult someone on the internet you don't publish your address! I bet the person had geotagging turned on or something.

Read the post like 3 posts above your own where it points out that the article lacks the other messages that show context.
The boxer was pissed and he took assertive action. Now people know not to fuck with this guy.
I like the trolls in this thread getting 'butthurt' at this article and trying to make it look like he just wasted his time. God it must be fucking terrible being a worthless troll in life.

Are we endorsing threatened physical violence as a response to free speech now?
I mean I can't speak for anybody else but personally I don't endorse jackasses who feel a need to fight anyone who insults them. People need to grow some skin and get over it.

Are you trying to imply that driving to someone's house over a comment made over the internet is not a waste of time, that it's something worth devoting time to?
