Less Than Half Of Australia's Public Toilets Don't Give A Shit For The Disabled.
Less than half of Australia’s public toilets are accessible to people living with disabilities, and accessible toilets are sometimes locked or used as storage rooms.
The lack of access in some parts of Australia has implications for tourism, the economy and people's general wellbeing.
A database of Australia’s public toilets lists close to 16,000 locations, but more than half are not accessible to people with disabilities.
Some postcodes – more than 400 in total – have no accessible public toilets listed in the database

That's the Aussie spirit.

Yep, the good ole fuck everyone else 'stralia you wankers spirit.
But seriously, I haven't even thought about this until now, but most of the toilets in the parks nearby (The ones owned by the council) don't have any disabled toilets in the toilet blocks.
Thats pretty bad.
I love disabled toilets, when I was doing IT contract work at a hospital I frequently used their disabled toilets on the quiet levels. You get a lot of room to poo and hand rails if it gets a bit intense.
I support the funding of disabled toilets for non disabled people

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't realize it until now either.
We should probably do something about this.
Also the title is wrong.

yeah, shouldn't it be "the disabled can't give a shit for Australia's public toilets"?

It was all fun until I felt super awkward walking out of one of those on two legs while a guy in a wheelchair gave me the stink eye

This never happened to me, but the idea of this happening is why I stopped using those. I never wanted to be that asshole.

is your ass a volcano or something
My old managers used to like to take us all out to Indian for lunch
Indian doesn't mix well with my butt
central australia doesn't have a whole lot of toilets
central australia doesn't have a whole lot of toilets
Can't tell if your serious or not, but if you are. Pretty much no one lives in central Australia.
Do people actually sit on public toilets? That shits nasty, just save your shit until you get home.

you'd think there would be one or two around though. I know it's no hong kong down there but it's at least vaguely populated. A gap the size of texas between public toilets is a pretty big deal whether it's densely populated or not.

Not sure if they are shown on this list, but usually servos have toilets out in the middle of no where. It's quite hard to grasp exactly how sparely populated those areas are. There are parts where there won't be a single man made thing other than road for 500+km.

Sometimes there is just no holding it that long. Either make an ass saving toilet paper barrier or hover.
Until you have to spend a while in a wheel chair most people don't really think about how necessary it is to have toilets for disabled folks.
Friend of mine had surgery a few years back as a result of a serious motorcycle accident and spent most of his time recovering in a wheel chair. He wasn't wheel chair bound in the sense that he couldn't move without one, but it was much more convenient. After a few months, he was able to transition to using crutches, and now he walks/runs just fine. But tell you what, it really provided some great perspective.
Every toilet in Australia is disabled. That's why they flush the wrong way.
Disabled are a minority. They're catering to the majority.

And this kind of mindset is why Australia is considered a backwards modern country.

At least we don't execute black teenagers in the street once a week.
If your toilet is giving a shit in general, you need to call a plumber

Oh please, don't act like Australia can sit above the U.S. in race issues with how Aborigines are treated.

"Considered a backwards modern country"?
First time I've heard anyone say that before.
Wait I don't understand was the title supposed to be a pun?

I once had to take a serious emergency shit at a very public and cheap waterpark.
On the one of hottest days of that summer. When the park had more people than they were legally allowed(place is trashy anyways no one cares)
Their was nothing to do, it was so fucking wet everywhere, all the toliet paper soggy as fuck, no ones flushing, a like even 3cm puddle of "water" covering the entire floor of the bathroom(this being a waterpark I was barefoot)
Shitting my pants would have been cleaner.
