True hero. Poor cat though...
True hero. Poor cat though...
Poor snake, now he has no lunch...
Poor snake, now he has no lunch...
Some snakes can go up to a year without eating
"...without injuring either animal" Yeah, right. Constrictors (and snakes in general) have teeth that curve inward. With the way he pulled the snake off of the cat, he most likely caused some pretty nasty laceration to the cat and perhaps ripped some of the snake's teeth out. This is not how you get snakes off of stuff.

That's a terrifying sight, poor cat.
Well what else could he have done at the time? The snake would have killed the cat within minutes.
I heard that pulling a snake's tail up and back (over its body) can cause it to let go of stuff. But this was several years ago on Animal Planet, so I dunno how true it was or how well my memory serves me. Otherwise, he could have poured alcohol or an alcoholic beverage on its head, held its head underwater until it let go, or just peeled the snake off of the cat starting from its tail, at which point it wouldn't have had much of a choice but to let go.
I know he got saved and all but I really could have gone without seeing that...
Is the cat really saved? I mean it looks like it's got a broken leg at the end and it's probably got internal damage.
Poor snake, now he has no lunch...
Cat is too big for it to eat.
Cat is too big for it to eat.
Snakes eat massive things.

True hero? That cat did not seem to escape unscathed. Kill the snake, save the cat. Cats are mammals, they have emotions and can plan future events. Snakes are reptiles, they are primitive and show little to no signs of any thought function outside of the bare basics and lacks the mental components necessary to feel emotions. Risking the life of the cat to save both is a poor decision in my opinion.

[editline]a[/editline] Nice to see that the joke went over most heads.
Jesus fuck some of you people. Dude didn't want to watch a fucking cat get crushed to death by a snake. That's as deep as this video goes.
Uh huh...
I remember there was an instance when python strangled an adult alligator, tried to swallow it, but the body of it was too much for snake to handle , so it ended up tearing/rupturring python apart. Here's video, there was a story about it on animal planet, if I remeber right. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/media/embed/946240

My eyesight was playing with me and I thought the snakes head was the cats leg or something (don't ask why) and he just ripped it off :v:
do you know how strong boas are?
Their bodies are lined with very dense muscles, yes. But this snake is just a little one, and the guy had plenty of leverage to work with. He peels it off starting with the head after he rips it off. What was stopping him from starting from the other end? [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] Just rewatched the video and noticed that the snake actually starts letting go on its own at about 33 seconds in. But the guy just keeps on pulling, which only prevents the snake from disengaging, because of the curvature of the snake's teeth. This guy does not know snakes at all.
So a Snake catches a cat and this is a problem why? Who cares its not like its his cat or anything.
wow it's not like it was the snake's or anything, either
they are primitive and show little to no signs of any thought function outside of the bare basics and lacks the mental components necessary to feel emotions.
Like yourself? Need you look at your own title? Just because it's a reptile does not mean that it "cannot feel emotion". That's a ridiculously asinine statement.
So a Snake catches a cat and this is a problem why? Who cares its not like its his cat or anything.
Cat's are mostly domestic animals, people are a lot more attached to cats than they are to mice/rats etc. Plus the noises the cat was making would've caused me to do the same thing he did.
This is the same thought process of Americans in the 1800's when they brought slaves over.
uh, can you not compare someone thinking that snakes are bad and that cats are good to the atrocity that was slavery in America, thanks.
Who cares its a stray and they're the same as pest anyway. The noises don't even matter that much (Well imo). Its just a snake doing what it has to do to survive anyway so whats the big deal? Its just one more stray let loose into the world by saving it
Who put you in charge of the Animals Worth Saving committee
Looks like a feral cat in a tropical country. Shit happens, sadly.
Looks like a feral cat in a tropical country. Shit happens, sadly.
People wouldn't think the world was beautiful if everything wasn't out of sight, out of mind.
