HELP - Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 effect.

Sup guise,

I'm not sure this is the right thread, but I have no clue where else to post. I'm trying to get an effect done in Adobe Premiere CS3 but it's not working.

I have a clip and I want it to fade to black and white (e.g; no saturation) at a certain point near the middle of it.. and then a few seconds later fade back into color. How do I do that?

Also, whenever I import a movie from my camera to Sony Vegas Pro, only the sound appears in the timeline, not the image.. why?

Adobe Premiere is for cutting video, Adobe After Effects is for doing that type of editing.
