When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, he said the suspect ignored blue lights and sirens and drove off at a high speed down Gervais Street. The officer followed and found the suspect’s vehicle wrecked on top of a home on Grace Hill Road in Forest Acres.
http://coladaily.com/2013/11/24/car-lands-on-top-of-forest-acres-house-police-searching-for-suspect/ I have no clue how they did this. The entire area is flat.
meanwhile, on the insurance companies phone line -irate screaming- "Mrs. Gerald I understand your frustration-" -screaming intensifies- "Mrs. Gerald, I understand that, I know, but your poli-" -screaming- "Your policy doesn't cover flying cars, Mrs. Gerald" -threatening screaming- "you'll put a flying car where?? Mrs. Gerald!"
Columbia can be pretty hilly in places, I'm not so surprised. Though I think the house was just lower than the spot where Gervais Street ends.
Gervais street makes me think of Ricky Gervais. :v:

Car could have veered to a side and rolled over. That could have given it enough of a jump to land on a house (given the house is 1.5 story high). Still, quite a feat.
I want it to have hit the lowered end of a trailer and ended up doing an awesome flying roll like you get in GTA or any other game with hollywood physics.
This reminds me of this cheat code in GTA that let cars fly.
the flying car cheat code in San Andreas was the best. amazing to escape in. [editline]24th November 2013[/editline] i liked to imagine the cops got out of their car and scratched their heads with a baton, wondering what the fuck just happened.
I have this image in my head with the police instantly giving chase, driving around the corner in pursuit and just seeing the car stuck on a house.
i liked to imagine the cops got out of their car and scratched their heads with a baton, wondering what the fuck just happened.
IIRC all cars in the game got the cheat activated, and people would fly once they hit a certain speed. Sadly the cops didn't get a pitch-yoke like the player did and they would just drift up and off into orbit, still a great sight to see though. More on-topic, I just saw a video of a car fly about a house high after a crash, and there was only like a small ditch to launch it. There's no need for a ramp to get a car airborne, apparently. For those interested in the video: Granted, I can't clearly see what really launches the car, and it did have a popped tire, but it doesn't seem like all that big a "ramp" to me. Edit: WHY is the video so large. Edit: WHERE is the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FauOIjlWvO0
This reminds me of this cheat code in GTA that let cars fly.
midtown madness + speed hack hit tiny bump, fly across entire city
Maybe the car was placed there already . And the driver just drove off and it was used as a distraction for him to get away. Fuck. I've been watching too many movies.
