The Legend of Korra is an upcoming American television series set in the Avatar universe as a spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is expected to air on Nickelodeon on April 14, 2012. The first two episodes premiered online on March 24-25, 2012 and are currently downloadable in high-definition for free on iTunes. The series is currently under production and is expected to run for two seasons and a total of twenty-six episodes, with options for more. The co-creators of the original series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will personally write all of the episodes to allow for a tighter storyline. The new series will take place seventy years after the end of the Avatar: The Last Airbender story arc, with new characters and settings. The protagonist of the new series, Korra, the Avatar after Aang, is a hot-headed and rebellious young woman from the Southern Water Tribe who is "ready to take on the world". The series will follow Korra as she faces an anti-bender revolt while mastering the art of airbending from Aang and Katara's son, Tenzi
SAUCE: yes the avatar wiki http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Korra I also saw the preview for it on TV like a week ago. old but Eh, http://screenrant.com/avatar-legend-of-korra-series-airbender-sequel-rob-70678/
I thought they already had a couple episodes out?
2 of them on itunes the actual show gets released on the 14th
Avatar isn't an anime.
This is pretty old. What did you do, freeze yourself for a hundred years?
I searched for a thread on it but saw none and I figured, why the hell not. also ha ha
when the title said 'new avatar(the anime)', I thought it meant there was a movie-avatar remake in anime form
thats what I was trying to avoid...
I'll be waiting until the series is over before I start it so I can watch it all at once.
I thought it meant the blue alien movie. Totally forgot about the other Avatar, all I know about it is they made a shitty movie about it.
Avatar isn't an anime.
Just because it is not of Japanese origin does not mean it is not anime, it very clearly is influenced by the styles of Japanese animation.
Looks pretty cool.
Just because it is not of Japanese origin does not mean it is not anime, it very clearly is influenced by the styles of Japanese animation.
"Anime" is what the Japanese call their cartoons. They call Tom and Jerry an anime.
I like the avatar shows because the storyline of the show, and since i saw the new episodes of this new avatar series, it's sticks to the original which is great.
Just because it is not of Japanese origin does not mean it is not anime, it very clearly is influenced by the styles of Japanese animation.
It was influenced by Japanese animation but it's not an anime.
Anime is the Japanese abbreviated pronunciation of "animation." In English-speaking countries, anime refers to a style of animation originating in Japan, characterized by colorful graphics and often featuring themes intended for an adult audience.
By definition Avatar isn't an anime.
