Forgot how much I loved this film, hope the sequel still gets made. Just pure badassery and some awesome setpieces/lore.

I always want to watch this movie but I hold it back and use it as a reward
Pacific Rim is one of those movies that I just love, no matter what.
Everything about it is totally absurd. Like even if you accept that there is a portal in the ocean releasing giant monsters, everything humanity does to fight them is stupid as fuck. Nothing makes sense. Nobody is smart. Everything in humanity's plan is inefficient as balls.
But I can't help but love it. The characters are fun. The action is awesome. The attention to detail on the jaegars is amazing. I remember noticing when Gypsie went to punch a monster in the face, you could see there was a maintenance ladder on the back of it's arm.
"He's fully aware of the live action anime he's living and it doesn't change how awesome it is."
This sums up a lot of the movie actually
