DES MOINES, Iowa —Storms packing thunderstorm force winds are causing damage and triggering thunderstorm watches and warnings across parts of Iowa Thursday. Nearly 38,000 customers in the Des Moines metro were reported without power Thursday at 6 p.m. by MidAmerican Energy -- mainly in Des Moines, Ankeny, West Des Moines, Johnston, Waukee and Urbandale. It could be Friday morning before service is restored to all customers, Pothoff said. Alliant Energy is also reporting about 500 customers out in Dallas County.
http://www.kcci.com/weather/when-to-expect-rain-storms-in-your-area/-/9358602/22019690/-/u7w7qp/-/index.html
Went out after the first wave was done and found 3 trees taken down by lightning, roof to the local elementary caved in, a few fires started that i could see. Only part of my town that has power is the center where the shops are. One of the gas stations had a broken door and food leading outside. crazy stuff man!
