Interesting that M.I.A. sampled the first few seconds of this song into "Paper Planes." The resulting tune is what made M.I.A. famous. Give credit where credit is due.

But this is common knowledge. Enjoy this timeless classic.
My dad probably knew that. The clash and the sex pistols are his 2 favorite bands. He's a 80's semi-punk.
oh hey i know this song too.
Your dad is cool.
Oh wow never noticed this.
Vanilla Ice sampled Queen's song "Under Pressure."
Take a look

See?
Samples aren't stealing, but I would like it if they made it more obvious as to what they're sampling.
Also, what the hell happened to edit? Or quick edit?
They have to pay royalties to the clash, so yes they do get credit (lots of credit)

Second time I've posted these videos together in 1 week.
It is to be expected because Diplo (nicknamed the ''King of cut and paste'' by Radio 1) produced this track, his songs are heavily sampled (see: Top Ranking A Diplo Dub). Just be thankful that M.I.A. didn't go out and say ''Everything in this track is mine.''
I need to listen to the clash more often. I like their music but i don't know a lot of their songs. This goes with a lot of bands i actually like.

For some reason i kind of like this, but really its only the fact that it samples daft punk.
It's ironic that the very song they sampled for kayne samples songs from older songs as well.
Showed this to my sister because she loves M.I.A.
Now she's all mad saying " That's nothing, that's not sampling. Sampling is just lyrics!" :colbert:
God.Fuck.
