Temperatures on Tuesday morning ranged from the high minus teens to high –30s across both provinces. Aside from some snow in the afternoon in northwestern Ontario and snow squalls in southern Lake Huron, Ontario is mostly clear under Arctic high pressure. Temperatures will remain cold until the weekend, with Toronto and Ottawa topping out at –17 C and –20 C Tuesday afternoon and feeling around (or below) the –30 mark in the morning with wind chill, CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland reported. oh boy i cant wait to be snowed in for another week.
So is Queen Elsa causing all of this? But seriously, how do you Canadians survive such cold temperatures yearly? I bet later in June, I bet the temperature there would soar over 35c
But anyways, later in June, I bet the temperature there would soar over 35c
Yup, with the humidex it usually gets above 40c
Do schools over there get closed because of severe cold?
It was -7F (-21C) here in Vermont this morning I actually can't really tell the difference when it gets below 10F. Just feels cold as balls. Honestly If you dress properly it's not even a big deal [editline]21st January 2014[/editline]
Do schools over there get closed because of severe cold?
Yeah sometimes, depends what area you are in and how cold it gets. Here it's pretty common to get below 0F in the winter so unless it gets like -20/-30 things go as planned. Heck I saw people jogging this morning in underarmor
It's supposed to snow like a foot here in New Jersey today, starting any minute now
Me and my friends right now:
Aw man, I checked the forecast yesterday morning and it said it would be low -10s. Total bait and switch.
Do schools over there get closed because of severe cold?
School is closed when the snow prevents the doors from opening
Walked outside in the cold for 5 seconds, nose started to freeze. Yup, it's pretty cold.
Fuckweed I,m sick of this cold
I knew it was a bit too nippy this morning.
I kinda feel like an asshole reading about negative temperatures when it's like, 60 to 70 here in California. What the fuck is with the weather.

Polar vortex does not leave. It's always there. It just gets displaced into lower latitudes and into the jet stream. Don't have enough public models at our disposal to see if it really is another collapse of the vortex. Would be pretty crazy to have two in a row I would imagine but I don't know maybe that's common in years where this happens.
Yay more snow!

Well it's definitely polar vortex weather. I can already hear my a neighbor down the street trying to start his Porsche. It never does.
The parts of Canada people live in have some of the highest seasonal temperature variances in the world, as high as 50-60C between winter and summer. Wearing snowpants to uni is annoying, you roast in the lectures so you don't freeze between classes. Started getting cold here as well after being incredibly warm for the season (I mean, -10 C in January?)
Can't wait for some more thundersnow. I can't get over that word......thundersnow.

Fuck Australian heat, brb moving to Canada
Get a locker man, thats what I do
No time between class, and since my classes are in different, not-connected buildings I'd still freeze my legs off between class.
Watch as US citizens flea to shopping centres for all the food they can get.
Aw fuck! Great i am going to turn into a block of ice.

I'd rather live somewhere that's too cold in the winter than too hot in the summer anyway, because you can put on as many layers as you want, but you can only take off so many. Plus I'll be in BC soon enough anyway and it's like eight degrees all winter
