Dominique Cottrez has been placed under investigation over the deaths, which happened between 1989 and 2006. Her husband has been freed without charge.
Mr Cottrez had initially faced investigation for allegedly concealing the bodies and not reporting crimes.
Mrs Cottrez, 47, faces charges of the voluntary homicide of the babies.
Being placed under investigation is the first stage of criminal proceedings that can lead to charges.
The prosecutor had requested the charges of failing to report the killings and hiding the bodies against Mr Cottrez, but the prosecutor said the investigating magistrate in the case had ruled against this.
wow, what a hoe
This is pretty horrible, surely someone would have noticed at least 8 newborns missing after she kept coming back and giving birth?
That's horrible :monocle:
Rumours are abound that the babies were part of her experiment investigating on the formation of babbys
Husband never suspected her after 17 years and 8 babies?
I don't understand why this is such a big deal, it's basically just a late abortion. The babies probably didn't understand that they were even alive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an insane baby killer, and I don't think she should've done that. But lifesentence for a late abortion is too much. 1 year and a fine should be enough.

haha wat? man you crazay
I ain't no anti-abortion religious freak but 8 babies dead, should
equal 8 life sentences.
Ok an abortion during early preganacy is ok, there's no way an early fetus undertands it's exsistance but once a baby is born, give the lil guys a chance seriously.
WTF she didn't want contrception, instead she wanted to kill her babies?
The least she could do was give them up for adoption, that may not be a good life but it's better than no life at all.
Fp surprises me every day.
'Don't worry they were probably late abortions.'
Oh.

So... by that logic, a robot is a living thing... right? :v:

My computer is living thing oh god!
I guess she must be going to jail since:
In March, a mother confessed to killing six of her newborn children and hiding them in the cellar of her house in north-west France.
In 1984 a couple in Correze, central France, were jailed for killing seven of their newborn infants over a period of seven years.
In Germany in 2006, Sabine Hilschenz was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the manslaughter of eight of her newborn babies. A ninth baby also died, but too long ago to allow a prosecution.
Although she should be in jail longer a jail term is is imminent.

You know I meant organisms.
yeah they all suffocated in her pubes when they were being delivered
french women dont shave
So she had babies...just to kill them...?

They have rights because they have been removed from the mother and now exist as a separate entity. Before that point, for all intents and purposes, they are a part of the mother and she has final say as to what happens to them.
"Just because they are not self-aware does not strip them of their basic rights" can be retro-applied all the way back to sperm so it's a dumb argument to make.
Pictures of said woman?

Good point. I concede.
Heard about it in the news, it's the biggest infanticide case France has known since it's got a fair judiciary system (I'm saying that because you'll never know what could've happen during the middle age...).
There are a lot of details the OP didn't said :
The husband wasn't aware of it
The first time the woman gave birth was horrible and really complicated because of her overweight, and everytime she gave birth she killed the newborn because of these original difficulties.
The woman's weight was so high no one was noticing her pregnancy, not even her husband.
The first two babies were discovered in garbage bags buried into the garden. The people who found this were the new owners of the house.
:ohdear: I can't believe there's people like this.
I heard the reason nobody noticed the pregnancies because she was just enormously fat anyway.
Surely somebody would notice the day after the birth/murder (Which obviously took place at home) that she'd suddenly lost a whole fucking ton of weight.
Also if the husband wasn't aware of it he's fucking retarded. At the very latest how could he not notice his wife had given birth?
In France we also like to put our dead babies in our fridges.
I'm joking here but sadly that's partially true, this is disgusting but happens a lot. What in god's name is going on these retards' mind?
How did the husband not notice this?
